Back up for auction is my 1935 Chrysler CZ Airstream. This is a true survivor car and is all original with 64,000 original miles. What makes this car so rare is it is a "CZ" Airstream which means it is an 8 cylinder. This was said to be the car that saved Chrysler when their Airflow design had failed. The Airflow design was too modern a design for the time and was bombing as far as sales. Chrysler decided to come up with another design to save the company. That is why there were so few 1935's. The Airstream did not come out in the fall with the other new models but was introduced late in the year. Even fewer were the 8 cylinder models. This is a rust free car and still sports the original paint. other than someone at one time or another had done some work and painted the right front fender. It has a nice patina to it. The interior is also all original with no rips or tears. The car runs great. In the good weather, I would put on my Fedora and drive it to work once a week. It takes you immediately back into the 30's! I received an e-mail from a gentleman that used to own the car. He was the second owner of the car. He explained to me that he had bought the car from his dentist. After his dentist passed away, he would ask his widow if she still had the old car in the garage. She would always reply "the car is long gone". Finally she admitted that the car was still in the garage and decided to finally part with it. He told me that it was in storage from 1944 until 1976 when he bought it. This is a true survivor car survivor car. He replaced the brakes and did the valves and she purrs like a kitten to this day. Mopar collectors, this is a rare opportunity to own a very rare piece of Chrysler history. There are only a handful of CZ's left. The car is in the same exact condition as it was then.
