Attention Collectors: This is likely the nicest, most original 2003 RC51 you’re going to find. Read the following and you’ll understand why I can make this statement. I had been in search of a low milage RC51 for a while when I stumbled across this gem in a small, back road shop in east Tennessee. The bike had literally been setting in their warehouse for 7 years. It had only 4,158 original miles on it and it was in great shape, except for the “usual” stuff like a tinted aftermarket windscreen, aftermarket undertail, missing rearview mirrors, aftermarket low profile turn signals, scratches in the decals and paint on the lower cowls, etc. Under the skin this bike was like new – it was almost spotless and needed practically no cleaning. I changed the fluids and did some minor cleaning on the brake calipers and that was about it. This bike also had the original exhaust mufflers, which are rare to find on one of these. My excessive compulsive side kicked in when I started purchasing replacement parts for the bike. I wanted it to be show room floor perfect with just a few tasteful upgrades. I purchased ALL NEW factory OEM Honda original parts from MR Cycles in Ashville, NC. NEW OEM Parts: - Left and Right Lower Cowls - Upper Cowl - Honda Windscreen - Seat Cowl - Rear Seat Eliminator Cover and Seal - Fuel Tank - Fuel Cap (no longer made – found a brand new one on eBay) - Rear Fender Assembly - Rear Brake Light Assembly - Front and Rear Turn Signal Assemblies - Exhaust Header Pipe (original had surface rust so I wanted it like new) - Rear View Mirrors - Speedometer Cover (original had swirl marks so I wanted it like new) - ALL new fasteners throughout bodywork - Reflectors NON OEM Parts: - Yoshimura Carbon Exhaust (original OEM exhaust is included and an easy swap) - ASV Adjustable Levers (original levers are included with bike) - Rizoma Bar Grips - Galfer Braided Steel Brake Lines - DiD Chain and Sproket In addition to these new parts, I also had the front fender professionally repainted (no longer available new from Honda so I refinished the original to perfection) to match the factory bodywork. The paint is flawless and the color match is spot on. I also had the wheels prepped and repainted in the original Honda Core Black Metallic paint. They also are flawless. The bike has brand new Bridgestone Battlax tires with no miles on them. I had the swingarm powder coated in a brushed aluminum finish which is much more durable than the original OEM paint and if it does happen to get scratched, it won't show since the swingarm is aluminum underneath. So long story short, this bike is in mint, show room floor condition throughout - just like new. It has an all new OEM Honda exterior and is mint condition underneath. It has a brand new complete exhaust system and brand new Battlax tires. It comes with the original exhaust, rear seat, shift levers and shop manual. I paid $6,500 for the bike originally and added approximately $5,500 worth of OEM and aftermarket parts to the bike (trust me when I say those OEM parts add up in a hurry!!). So I’ve got $12,000 in the bike altogether. I’m starting the auction at a considerable savings, so basically the winner of the auction is going to get this bike for thousands less than what I have invested in it. My loss is your gain. I’m only selling because I need the money for a business venture. The winner of this auction will NOT be disappointed. This bike looks better than the pictures show. Absolutely beautiful.
