Salvage

This bike has provided me with reliable transportation for over four years now, but it's on the west coast and I have no plans to move back there. It has been stored in my friends garage for some time now and I'm giving her the garage space back. I have put over 10K miles on this bike and she runs and drive very well. I bought the K1 with a salvage title and rode it home. It had scratches and was missing a few parts, so I patched and painted the bodywork and used her as my commuter motorcycle while I was living in and visiting LA. I have, in the past, flown out and ridden around for a week and then flown home. The battery has been plugged into a battery tender since I moved away and this K1 will start right up for it's new owner. It has an aftermarket Luftmeister exhaust, Russell daylong saddle and BMW expandable tank bag. It will make someone a nice commuter bike or restoration project or parts bike, etc. The motor and transmission are very smooth and powerful. The shaft drive requires minimal maintenance and has been properly lubricated every 10K miles. Full disclosure: as previously mentioned the bike was dropped off the kick stand when my friend moved it in the driveway. It does have some scratches as a result, but the bodywork is in great shape. I changed the oil/filter at 60K and before that every 3K. The K series engines are known to be very reliable, so don't let the mileage fool you. I have another one, on the east coast, with over 140K miles on it that runs very well. That being said, I do have to add oil to the engine between oil changes. For some reason this bike burns a little oil. It was like that when I bought it, but does not effect the running otherwise.
