Vehicle Detail

Up for auction is one of the most game changing bikes of its year, a 1976 Suzuki RM370, which was modeled after the bikes Joel Roberts & Roger Decoster were winning world championships with. This bike has been a two year project that took it to the frame and was rebuilt from the ground up, not overlooking anything along the way. Here is a list of things that were done to the restoration. FRAME: The frame, swing arm, brake stay bar, kickstand, & foot pegs were stripped and powder coated. The swing arm received nos oem bearings and chain buffer on assembly. Rear wheel was taken apart where the hub was media blasted and painted and reassembled with nos bearings, Buchanan S/S spokes laced to the original stock polished rim and had EBC brakes installed along with a new sprocket and chain. A Bridgestone M604 tire and new tube were mounted to the rim. A set of very nice stock shocks were installed to finish off the rear end. The front forks were sent to Y&S racing to be rebuilt, on return they were polished along with the triple clamps and handle bar clamps. The front wheel was taken apart where the hub was media blasted and painted and nos oem bearings were installed along with EBC brake shoes. Buchanan S/S spokes were installed and laced to the original polished rim with Bridgestone M603 tire and new tube installed. The handle bars were media blasted and painted, brake & clutch perches along with the throttle body were polished with nos oem levers and dust covers installed. All plastics, seat cover, & seat foam, as well as fork guards are from Vintage Suzuki. Fuel tank was professionally restored and a UNI air filter installed into the air box. All control cables (front & rear brake, throttle, & clutch) were nos oem items. ENGINE: The engine was a low hour engine that was taken apart, inspected and media blasted and painted. On assembly the crank bearings were replaced and all seals and gaskets were replaced with nos oem parts. The lower rod bearing was tight and the clutch basket and discs were in excellent shape. The cylinder was still on the original bore but on the edge of tolerances so it was bored to .25mm over with nos piston, rings, piston pin, & piston bearing. The intake is nos eom with boyesen reeds installed. The carburetor was taken apart and cleaned and put back together to oem specs. Most all the original bolts and screws were sent out and re-zinced along with the kick starter, chain guard, & shift lever. This engine only has about five minutes of run time on it. This has been a very thorough restoration with nothing overlooked, there is one minor flaw where the small cylinder fin below the engine displacement on the cylinder has been broken off, but overall this is a museum quality bike. As with most 37 year old bikes this comes with bill of sale only THERE IS NO TITLE TO THE BIKE, in as- is condition with no warranty. Shipping will be the responsibility of the winning bidder with the bike residing in Glendale, AZ. The winning bidder will need to make a $250.00 dollar payment to paypal within 24hrs of auction close, the balance being paid by bank transfer within 7 days of auction close.
