Vehicle Detail

This 1966 Galaxie had a body off restoration from 2010 to 2012. It started with a rust free body stripped bare. It's now has beautiful red paint, with all the factory chrome cleaned and reinstalled. It also has a brand new interior, with original pattern heavy vinyl seats. The door panels are also new. This was an original rust free 93,000 mile car before restoration. All expensive parts were used, and nothing was left undone. I bought it last fall from the gentleman who restored it. After he finished it, he covered it up an immediately started on another car. The original 390 engine and C-6 transmission are basically brand new, professionally rebuilt.. He never had any fluids in the car when I bought it, not even oil. So I carefully filled the motor oil, tranny fluid, brake fluid, power steering fluid, anti freeze, and new gasoline. The new 650 CFM Edelbrock carb took about 2 minutes to suck the fuel up from the tank, and amazingly ran smoothly with just very minor adjustment. So far I have driven it about 10 miles and it runs great. The only thing giving me trouble is the power steering pump. It is brand new, as are all the hoses, but so far the power steering is not working. I am going to try to bleed it and have it working well before this auction is over. The underside of the car is solid and rust free. There was never any major rust on the frame or floors. It has not been detailed underneath to look show quality, but does look very good. The dual exhaust system was also replaced. The vinyl top is original and still looks like new. All glass is original. The rear glass has some minor scratches in the middle, but may rub out. Not sure how that happened. All doors shut like new, and all windows work smoothly. It has the original radiator, but it has been rebuilt (recored), so it is just like a new one. The bumpers were never rusted, so the chrome is still very nice. I did notice two very tiny paint chips about the size of a ball point pen tip. One is on the upper part of the front fender, and one on the rear. Not sure how they got there, but they are barely noticeable. It has not quite new American Racing mags and new tires. This is not a concourse restoration, but it is very presentable, and one you will be proud to take to the local car shows. Everything that was not replaced with new, was rebuilt or repaired. Forgot to mention it has new black correct carpet. The headliner is original, and in perfect condition. There is one thing missing from this car. The reverse safety switch which is located on the steering column down by the brake pedal, is missing. The plug is there, but the switch that attaches to the steering column is missing. It is probably a $200 part. This caused the ignition to not turn the engine over. So I installed a push button under the dash, wired it into the safety switch plug, and it starts fine. You just have to turn the key to the on position and push the button and it fires right up. This is common use in race cars, but if it is a bother to you, it will be an easy fix. Other than that, I believe this is going to be a car that will last another 50 years. It's solid as new again. I have a very fair reserve on this car. I never try to make top dollar. I just enjoy buying and selling cars and motorcycles. I am also open to offers or trades for other vintage cars or motorcycles. My auctions usually don't make it to the end, so if you want this car, make me your best offer. I have sold and shipped motorcycles all over the world, so shipping is no problem. I can have the car shipped anywhere in the United States very reasonably. If you are not in the United States, I will help you arrange shipping, but all costs are your responsibility. This is a used car, so I offer no warranty. It has a clear Ohio title, in my name. I will not ship the car or the title until the vehicle is paid in full. I will NOT accept full payment through pay pal. I will only expect $500 deposit into my pay pal account immediately after the auction, and the balance via wire transfer, certified bank check, or if you have a better method, we will discuss that. I am very easy to work with, and I can store the car safely if you are coming to pick it up later. But it must be paid in full within 10 days of the end of this auction. Please email me with any questions, or call me at 567-295-9060. Thank you for bidding, and good luck. RichOn Apr-03-14 at 06:41:10 PDT, seller added the following information: I haven't found time to work on the power steering pump. I don't follow my auctions, so excuse me if I haven't answered any questions. I have quite a few muscle cars and just bought a couple more, which have been keeping me busy. So I have reduced the reserve by $1,000 because I am out of room, and to help the buyer fix the power steering pump and reverse safety switch. Also as I just reread my ad, I forgot to add it has had new front floor pans installed. The reserve was $10,000. I've reduced it to $9,000 just to make some room. So someone is going to get the best deal on ebay. It's probably worth twice that. But now it's in my way, so it must go. Thank you, Rich
