Vehicle Detail

This 1966 Mustang Convertible is an absolute knock-out and the ideal evening cruiser (the perfect ice-cream-run car). Has been an every-other daily driver for me as well. The machine is mechanically sound and has absolutely zero rust. It was fully restored (frame-off rotisserie) about four years ago by a mechanical engineer; the engine was rebuilt by a depot-level C-130 aircraft mechanic. There are a bunch of aftermarket "goodies" that are "hidden" within this beauty. I am selling the car because I'm ready for a new project and the wife will only let me have one toy at one time. The goal of the restore was a stock look with a bunch of hidden upgrades. That being said, here's what the car has:6-Cylinder - 200cc motor that was completely rebuilt by a very experienced aircraft engine mechanic. Runs perfect on 87 octane fuel. (video available with email request)3-Speed Cruis-O-Matic Transmission that was rebuilt during the restore and works flawlesslyPower top with perfect rear window (video available with email request)Front Disc Brakes with DUAL MASTER CYLINDER and brake booster. Stock-looking radio but it is AM/FM/Aux (I play my IPhone through the radio)Aftermarket kick-panel JVC speakersAftermarket A/C - $2500 system in-the-box - 1967-style vents (see photos)Dynamat insulation under floor - car is extremely quiet with top down14 inch, 4-lug Bullit Wheels - good luck finding these wheels for a '66 mustang on your own!Custom pony interior (white/black) (see photos/video)Car cover and convertible top leather cover come with the carStock jack in the trunkZERO RUST!!! (see photos) Details: I've had the car for just over 3 years. It's been garage-kept the entire time and only driven during sunny Florida Panhandle weather. It is an absolute head-turner and I can't remember the last time I drove the car without someone commenting on how beautiful the car is. Restored about 4 years ago in Georgia. I've driven the car about two to three times a week during the Spring / Summer / Fall. Cranked it up every week during the winter time to keep the fluids flowing. I have a 30-40 minute commute in stop-and-go traffic in the FL panhandle to-and-fro work and the car runs absolutely perfect when the temp is <100. When the temp gets above 100 - the car does not like the stop-and-go traffic if the commute is more than 30 minutes (gets hot but will make it home). It has an aftermarket radiator and radiator shroud for cooling - but the 100 degree temps (probably closer to 120 on the pavement) will give it trouble (after 30 minutes). The paint is flawless and the interior is fantastic. The underside should make you smile - it's tough to find a classic mustang that is this clean underneath. It has a dual-master brake cylinder - installed by the restorer for safety (66s only came with a single-master cylinder and if it fails - you lose your brakes) and also has front disc brakes. The dual master cylinder is from a '69 Corvette and the 14" front discs are from a late-model Nisan Sentra (the best fit for a 14" wheel - finding 14" front discs for Mustangs is very tough if not impossible). The thing that I wish was better with the car are the gaps - really, it's just the driver-side door (see photo). Otherwise - the car is perfect. You can drive this car for 3 hours at 60 mph, get gas, and it will crank right up without any issues. You can leave it for a week in the garage, and it will crank right up without any coaxing. This car is truly a pleasure to look at and a pleasure to drive. Like I said, the only reason I'm getting rid of this car is because it's time to get a new project and I want to go with a Chevy this time (don't hold it against me). Shoot me an email if you want to see videos of the car. I took some videos of the power top, the engine cranking and running, and from inside the car while I'm driving it. If a picture is worth a thousand words and a video is a thousand pictures - you do the math :) PLEASE DO NOT WASTE MY TIME asking for videos if you're not willing to pay (close to) the Buy-It-Now price. Bottomline - this is a perfectly clean, great running, '66 convertible with a $2500 aftermarket A/C, Dynamat soundproofing flooring, an aftermarket radio to play your IPod/IPhone, a Dual Master Brake Cylinder, and 14" Bullit style wheels with front discs. Heck of car and tough to find one in this condition for this price. On Mar-28-14 at 19:01:11 PDT, seller added the following information: ***RESERVE IS MET - THIS CAR IS SELLING*** This 1966 Mustang Convertible is an absolute knock-out and the ideal evening cruiser (the perfect ice-cream-run car).
