Vehicle Detail

Here is a 1975 Lincoln Continental Town Car with 85,000 original miles. I was told by the previous owner that it was displayed at the Hartford Heritage Auto Museum in Hartford Wisconsin from 1987 to 2005. The reason is that it was originally owned by Henry Ford II, the son of Edsel Ford and the grandson of Henry Ford. I have not confirmed this, and I don't have any paperwork supporting it. The body is in ok shape, but as you can see in the pictures, the bottom of the drivers side is starting to rust. Being a northern car for most of its life did not help it in this regard. It also has a rust hole in front of the passenger back wheel well. It has a couple of dings in the body, nothing severe. The passenger fender is a slightly different color than the rest of the car, I don't know the history behind it. The vinyl roof is shot, but I can't feel any bubbling underneath it. I will throw in a brand new green vinyl roof if the car sells for more than $1200. The fender skirts on one side have bolts in them to help attach to the car, I would recommend a new set if you are intent on restoring it. The door handle on the driver's rear door has been taken off, I have one to go on it that will be included. There is minor rust above the passenger tail light. The inside of the car is in good condition, but the dash pad has cracks in it and there is a half dollar size hole in the headliner above the back right passenger seat where a mouse got in it a couple of years ago. The engine runs good, but it has a high idle due to the carburetor, which is a brand new Holley 770. I put this carb on another car, and it idled high as well, so it is definitely the carb. The brakes work good, everything seems to be in good order other than the A/C, which needs attention. I have many more pictures which I can email to you, but I am having trouble with the Ebay uploader. It is a decent car that can be restored, overall condition probably a 6 out of 10. If you have any questions please shoot me an email. Thanks.
