Vehicle Detail
1979 Continental Mark V Bill Blass Edition All Original Very Low miles 39,683Car was purchased originally by Rex Greene the President of a large manufacturing company in Chicago IL. upon his passing in 1989 the car was stored till 1999 and it was sold to a collector in Michigan who kept the car in beautiful condition till last year when I acquired the car. This beautiful Mark V has had a new fuel tank added instead of having it cleaned and the exhaust pipe was replaced due to a loading issue on the transport truck where it snapped a fitting so I decided to replace the pipes from the Y section coming from the catalectic converters. I also replaced the starter solenoid and a minor rubber hose which went to the carburetor. All the electronics work perfect Windows Doors Locks Seats - Vanity lights Dash board lights are like brand new bright greenish glow just like when it came from the factory. Radio Works and has an 8 Track Player. Takes me back to the Disco Era. Power Antenna works perfect. Easier to list what doesn't work on this car and here it is. The two front door speakers don't seem to put out much sound no idea why. Don't want to take the door panels apart for no reason. Still sounds great. Everything else on the car still work even the cruise control. The paint on the car is very nice. The white sections have no chips or scratches as you can see by the photos. The blue sides have minor surface scratch. Around the drivers door key hole there are minor blemishes. I would not try to touch this up its part of its charm. The Carriage top is original in great shape also original very white no color one little corner seems to have a slight lift and I will have that addressed this week.Carpets are beautiful and the Blue leather seats are like brand new, soft as the day it rolled off the assembly line. To many things to list here.I have additional pictures on Flicker click on the link below to see all the photos.https://www.flickr.com/photos/121208097@N08/13345713843/in/photostream/Feel Free to contact me with any questions. I also replaced the starter solenoid and a minor plastic hose which went to the carburetor. The car will have a tune up this week replacing the spark plugs and wires and rotor cap. I will have the engine cleaned and dressed and address any issues I find. The car has no oil leaks or any other kind of fluid leaks. This car has NO RUST. and is as straight as an error. Someone just asked me if the car had ever been repainted and the answer is not to my knowledge. I don't see any signs of being painted due to the pinstripes on this car are very rare with loops at the front and I can tell they are original. Also about rocker panel at the bottom of the car which I do not see evidence of ever having the rocker panels. I looked on my Lincoln Club photos and have seen some with and without. This one does not have them but it does have chrome on the shark fins which was not typical on this model. All I know from the son of the second owner who also passed away is that his dad kept the car in a garage and he never took the car out in the winter time due to the snow in Michigan. This I can tell to be true by looking at the underside of the car. It has very little surface rust but nothing major at all. I will add photos to the Flicker account of the engine compartment and the underside of the car. The leaf springs are in great shape and are one of the few things that show minor surface rust.If I have time this week I will also upload a video of the car.
