Vehicle Detail
Up for sale here I have a great rat rod, custom or parts car 1950 Chevrolet Fleetline Deluxe fresh out of a long hibernation in the woods since the original engine went bad in 1980. It still has its 1980 special vehicle plate on it. The car has is wearing its original green patina paint that would look excellent as a rat rod. The car does have rust in it but is not so far gone that it is not buildable. The worst rust is in the front floors and the trunk. The back floors are pretty decent but there is some rust under where the front seat sits. The door skins are very nice but both doors have rusted in a line along the bottom. If building a rat you could just tack the bottoms of the doors back together. The passenger rocker is fairly solid but has two spots that look like filler in it. The drivers side rocker is very rusted along the entire piece. There's rust in the lower quarters and rear fenders. Theres also some rust in the roof up by the top corners of the windshield. The front valance is there but is badly dented. The front fenders, hood, deck lid, and frame are all very nice parts. Most of the stainless trim is present on the car and the dash and interior parts are pretty much all there. The front seat mounting brackets will need work because the previous owner thought it would be easier to cut the brackets at the floor instead of removing the bolts. The stainless on the passenger door is painters taped on because it was trying to fly off when I brought the car home. The steering wheel has some damage but still functions fine. The car has a 216 with a 3 on the tree. The 216 went bad in 1980 and someone took it apart to figure out what went wrong and never put it back together but most of the parts are present. The engine would probably be best used as an anchor for a large boat. The three speed seems to shift into gears fine. I know the drivetrain probably won't be important to most people. The glass is all in the car and the wing windows and drivers quarter glass are the only cracked pieces. The rest of the glass has some imperfections but would clean up and work for a rat rod. I have the original key to the car that fits everything on it. There is a dealer logo on the deck lid above the lock thats pretty cool. The parts that I know are missing is the front bumper with brackets, the fender skirts, one hubcap, the passenger side rocker molding, and the passenger taillight. There's probably more but those are the parts that I know of. The car doesn't roll and the tires don't hold air for very long but if that is something you need for transport I will get those issues fixed. The car has a clear ks title in my name that matches the vin on the car. This car is selling with no reserve and I will not part it out. I can assist with delivery within 250 miles of Ottawa, Ks for $1 per loaded mile. Thanks and good luck bidding. I forgot to mention that the car is for sale locally so the auction may end at anytime before a bid is placed.
