Vehicle Detail
1963 Chevrolet Impala Sport Coupe - 409 Cubic Inch engine 425 Horse power. Barn Find-Survivor Impala. This is the original paint and interior. Great Patina. Accident Free and Rust Free Oregon car. The car was sold new in Canby, Oregon, at Sam's Garage. One owner. I bought it six years ago, after the original owner passed away. I just finished a complete Mechanical restoration of it. I was careful to preserve the original paint and interior. I wanted the Barn Find-Survivor look. It has an original 1963 Chevrolet 409 - 425 Horsepower QB engine with a Muncie close ratio 4 speed. This car was born with a 6 cylinder engine with a 3 speed manual transmission. The following is what I did to the Impala. I was after a "Day 2" Survivor look. ENGINE: I purchased the complete engine from a 1963 Impala, that was rolled and totaled back in 1965. The car had 20,000 miles. The engine went into storage from 1965 until August of 2011, when I bought it. Since it was stored for 46 years, I had it professionally rebuilt. There was no ring ridge or cylinder taper, Standard bore. I found some NOS piston rings, for the original TRW pistons. The crank was standard on the Main and Rod journals, so it was polished and new standard bearings were installed. New oil pump. Gave it a valve job and new valve stem seals. The block number is 3830814 and the stamp on the pad is 11023QB. The heads are the High performance Big Port #3814690 heads. The intake manifold number is 3814881 and is a Winters casting. I had the original AFB (3361 and 3362) carburetors rebuilt. Correct 409 distributor, its number is 1111023. I did convert it to a Pertronix Electric conversion (It is hidden under the original cap, however I retained the stock points equipment). I rebuilt the original water pump, the original alternator, new AC Delco fuel pump. Still has the original Dripper Valve covers and air cleaner. New air filter element. New Flywheel and Heavy Duty Ram clutch assembly. New reproduction radiator, hoses, heater hoses, battery, etc. Completely new exhaust system; with Sanderson Headers, and Flowmaster 40 Mufflers. I had the Muncie Close ratio 4 speed trans rebuilt and it shifts great. I did use a Hurst Shifter assembly, with a reproduction original GM shifter handle. Reproduction 6000 RPM tach. Stewart Warner Oil and temp gauges. I did every thing right with the right parts. The Impala starts, runs, drives and stops great. I have driven it 20 miles since completing it. It is a fresh build. Three inch thick build book documenting all the parts and work done. Receipts for every thing. Clean and clear Oregon title. OTHER: I installed American mags, 7 x 15 front, and 8-1/2 x 15 rear. Tires are new Dunlop GT Qualifiers, 215/70x15 front and 235/70x15 rear. 4 New Gas shocks. The car is located in Corvallis, Oregon 97330. I am located 85 miles South of the Portland, Oregon Airport. I am 35 miles North of the Eugene, Oregon Airport. Fly in and drive it home. Or, I will assist your shipper with loading it. I have been an Ebayer since 2002, with a 100% rating. The car is For Sale locally, so the auction may end early. If you have any questions, or need more information please call me on my cell (541) 740-4140. The car is available for your inspection. Email works too. If I don't answer my cell, please call my office (541) 753-5944 and leave a message. I just turned 67 years old, and I am going to retire. I will be selling my business. So I need to down size my fleet some what. Good luck bidding.
