Vehicle Detail
Prius V -- Advanced Technology Package -- with an extended warranty till July 2016 Why should you consider buying this car? • From the research that I have made, it appears that Toyota only made between 2% to 5% of all Prius vehicles with the advanced technology package in 2010. If you try to find a Prius vehicle with the same Trim and with the Advanced Technology Package, (designed to prevent accidents and self-park) you will notice how few of them are available for sale either at eBay or anywhere else –online, in newspaper used car ads, or at Toyota Certified used car lots. • Trim 5 was the most expensive Trim offered, and only some of the Prius cars in Trim 5 got the advanced technology package. If you try to buy a similar car from a certified Toyota dealer, your overall cost will not be lower than in this sale, and you might or might not get an extended warranty with the car. • This is a clean, top of the line vehicle in terms of safety, savings, convenience, and luxury. • This car is a pleasure to drive. • Some of the original warranties are still in effect, and it has an additional extended warranty for peace of mind. • It has not been involved in an accident; it does show normal wear for its age, however, it has been carefully cared and maintained. • When it came out in 2010, it was the top saver in terms of gas consumption. • There are few cars that have so much applied engineering design to avoid accidents (read below). • The built in GPS and integrated traffic information system (see below) helps in avoiding congested traffic areas and getting you to your destination in time. In addition, an advanced voice recognition system permits communication with the navigation system without the need of typing while driving. • Receiving or terminating calls while driving can be accomplished with a button built right in the steering wheel, and dialing can be done through the advanced voice recognition system. • The soft leather interiors are inviting to enter the car with ample, comfortable space for passengers. • The luggage compartment has plenty of space, and the back seats can be folded down for additional storage space. • For peace of mind, it has an extended warranty till July of 2016. The hybrid warranty is good till July 2017. • This Toyota Prius is a third generation Prius, and like all hybrids, driving the 2010 Toyota Prius is a remarkably quiet experience. • Compared to the second generation it has new styling inside and out, a larger and more powerful engine, and, better fuel economy. • The transition between gasoline engine and electric motor (most commonly felt while idling), is even smoother in this generation, making it almost imperceptible. Vehicle Details Interior • It includes a contoured dash vehicle information center that shows a variety of fuel-usage related displays accessible through Touch Tracer Display "wheels" on the steering wheel. • These touch-sensitive button wheels control the radio volume, station, information display and air conditioning temperature and, to help drivers keep their eyes on the road by not having to look down when making a selection, the information is repeated in the vehicle information cluster. Under the Hood • The total hybrid system horsepower (gasoline engine and electric motor combined) for 2009 was only 110 hp, but for 2010 it's up to 134 hp. • The 2010 Prius' fuel economy ratings of 51 city / 48 highway are higher than those of the previous generation, and individuals wishing to max out their mileage can make use of three buttons to control the vehicle's fuel consumption and throttle response --"EV," "ECO," and "POWER." • "EV" button operates the car in ultra-quiet electric-only mode (battery power, speed and distance permitting). • "ECO" button modifies the throttle response so that no matter how lead-footed or determined a driver may be, the vehicle won't rapidly accelerate. This mode also affects the air conditioning operation and shuts it off when the vehicle is left idling. • "POWER " button, when pushed, increases throttle response, allowing for more lively acceleration akin to a regular gas-powered four-cylinder vehicle. Historical pricing notes -- please see attached chart • In 2010 the base 2010 Toyota Prius II had an MSRP of a little under $23,000– which is in line with the last generation's base-model price in 2009. • In 2010 the Prius V had an MSRP of just over $28,000, and adding the Advanced Technology and Navigation package increased the total to nearly $32,500. • In 2011 the base Toyota Prius I had an MSRP just under $22,880. • In 2011 the base Toyota Prius II had an MSRP of $24,280. • In 2011 the Prius V had an MSRP of just under $29,500 and adding the Advanced Technology and Navigation package increased this total to $34,630. • In 2012 the base Toyota Prius II has an MSRP just under $24,000. • In 2012 the Prius V has an MSRP of just under $30,560, and adding the Advanced Technology and Navigation package increased the total to almost $34,880. • The Prius has historically retained an above-average resale value regardless of fluctuating gas prices. A used Toyota, Prius 2010, Trim 5, with the advanced technology package with 55,700 miles is given by Kelley Blue Book a price of $20,990 (range $19,941 - $22,038) when buying it from a car dealer. The difference between a Trim 5 with the ATP and a Trim 2 is over $4,000 in the used car market today; however, you, also, get a lot more with a Trim 5 with ATP compared to a Trim 2. Something to keep in mind when bidding and comparing prices among the different Trims. If you only want the fuel economy the most basic Prius will give you this. However, if you want the luxury and safety offered by a Trim 5 with ATP, then this is an unusual offer at a huge discount from MSRP.
