Vehicle Detail
Selling my 1966 Dodge Coronet 440 2dr hardtop as I just have too many cars in my collection. This car was bought new in Waco and has spent its entire life within a 90 mile radius of Waco. As a result this is absolutely a rust free car which has been in the family since the mid 1980's when my uncle bought it. At this point the interior was redone with a nice vinyl "tuck in roll" on the seats along with a fresh paint job in its original color scheme. A few years later it's 383 V8 received an overhaul along with with harden valve seats to allow it to run better on unleaded fuel. It has traveled about 23,000 miles since. I bought it in 1999 and drove it off and on till 2001 when I parked it. Since pulling it out of long term storage 2 years ago it has received a brake system rebuild with new master cylinder, fuel tank cleaning with new sending unit, Carburetor rebuild, new power steering box, 727 transmission rebuild with external cooler system installed, new mufflers and new radial tires. It has now traveled less than 4,000 miles since the most recent maintenance. This is a factory HP 383 4bbl with 727 automatic transmission with 323 rear axle. It has factory air (not working at the moment) and Power Steering. Odometer shows 30,000 plus miles which is really 130,000. This is not a show car but rather a fantastic Saturday cruiser or daily driver. The paint and upholstery show normal signs of wear and tear. The left rear fender area has some previous minor body damage which is starting show some, however every where that I drive this car I get numerous complements and even had a couple of offers to buy it, but I have not been ready to sell it till now. Things it still needs: The rear leaf spring shackle bushings need to be replaced as the rubber has recently in the last year given up after 47 years. These parts are readily available via various Internet suppliers for about $150 - $200. I have just not had the time to replace them yet. The AC system needs to be reworked, however the heater and all duct work function properly. Again I have not had enough time to put it back into working shape, however if I still own this car by summer it will have working AC. Ha!! Ha!! The Speedometer needs to be pulled out and fresh lubricants added as it chatters and bounces some in cold weather. All in all this is great car in wonderful shape and is tons of fun to drive. Please feel free to contact me with questions! This Coronet is being sold as is with no expressed warranty! Thank You for looking!
