Vehicle Detail
Selling this recently sorted 1940 Packard, Series 1803, Club Sedan. Reported to be one of 176 manufactured in 1940. It was also one of five Packards that completed the Packard challenge out of 50 entries. It is finished in yellow on tan. We have had the electrical system checked and addressed, the brakes and installed a new fuel pump. It drives wonderfully and I just took it out today to a round of applause. When was the last time you've seen one of these driving down the road??? There were countless stares and thumps up. It is a super 8 and has a manual 3 speed(non-overdrive) transmission. The dash does have some pieces that are curling(see video and photos). Replacement pieces are available. The previous owner kept this gem in a heated garage and time has taken it's toll. It rides on wide, whitewall tires. The trunk is clean as is the undercarriage. You can hop in this ol' girl and drive her down the street and watch the admiring stares for yourself. The interior is in great shape. The headliner does not sag. The doorpanels are nice and the running boards too. The chrome does have minor pitting throughout. Remember, this is not a "show car" but a nice respectable driver. It is ready to be taken to the next level if that is the desire of the new owner. I would, myself, drive it and enjoy it. However, that is my preference. Packards were known throughout as the "American" Rolls Royce. American Royalty drove these gems from Roosevelts to Kennedy's. From movie stars to titans of industry. They were built in the United States and were admired throughout. Here's your chance to own a piece of American History for NO RESERVE. That is right!!! Final bid gets to own this gem and enjoy her. With all my auctions, a few requirements. First, NO PAYPAL. Second, any all and bidders with less than 10 feedback, and/or negative feedback need to contact me prior to bidding with their full name and contact number or your bid will be cancelled and your user id blocked from future bidding. Third, you are bidding to own, not look and make excuses. Once the auction is completed, YOU ARE THE NEW OWNER. Please have all funds, and/or permission slips prior to bidding., Any and all inspections welcome during the auction period, not after. Also, selling in AS-IS, Where-IS condition with NO WARRANTIES, expressed or implied. Seller has represented vehicle to the best of his knowledge and makes no warranties in regards to vehicle. Please be advise that this is a 74 year old vehicle and not a fresh restoration. Please view the videos, photos and ask any questions at any time. Vehicle is also advertised locally and seller reserves right to end the auction early and cancel all bids if sold outside of ebay. Any and all interested parties can email for a buy it now price if you cannot wait until the end of the auction. With a giant drumroll, let the auction begin on this piece of American History.
