Vehicle Detail

This is a no-nonsense 302. Raw power (base/stock horsepower is 230hp; w/ additions & upgrades, this pony is currently topping 250hp) and reliability of a maintained engine & transmission (both rebuilt!)—no issues. Enjoy the ride, sounds, head-turning, & fun of a Mach 1…without the price of a 351W engine. This V-8 302 is a sexy beast with a great engine growl! It’s a solid daily driver or weekend runabout. Learn to tinker under the hood for education, fun, & maintenance…without the time/effort requirements of a “project car”–this Stang is ready to drive now! BODY & EXTERIOR: The body is all original sheet metal, no replacement panels. The car has never been in a collision. The floor pans are also original—no rust! Added Mach 1 options: are the hood scoop, front spoiler, racing bullet mirrors, 15” Magnum 500 wheels (235/60/15 tires)—these chrome wheels make this Stang look fast, even when it’s parked. The 235s are fat for good grabbing power & nice, even ride. The windows are slightly tinted—the tinting makes the silver paint pop even more & protects the interior from UV light. The windshield is new. The rear window has a small scratch (approx 2.5”), but the glass is strong/solid. The paint is silver-metallic with blacked out semi-gloss hood scoop, headlight buckets, & taillight panel. The paint is less than 10 years old—it is the 2003/2004 Ford Mustang stock silver—and was done by a professional. There are a few, minor chips in the paint (all less than 0.5 inches in size/radius) & a few, small bubbles near the passenger side taillight. There are some minor imperfections, but nothing major at all. INTERIOR: The interior was newly re-done & installed in 2005. The seats were entirely re-done in the original blue vinyl color (& match the doors), which goes very nicely with the silver paint. New black carpet, 3-point seat belts (for safety), wood steering wheel, & dash cover were also installed. New heater core & box were installed in 2004. A new Pioneer CD player (with remote) was installed with 4 speakers (two 6”x9” in the rear & two 4” up front). Digital clock on passenger dash to help you keep time & monitor electrical flow—it’s wired so that it dims if you’re alternator is not supplying enough power to charge/maintain your battery (no surprise power failures in stop-n-go traffic!) ENGINE & TRANSMISSION: The engine is a 302 (V-8) & has been totally rebuilt with less than 15,000 miles on it with upgraded internals. It runs really strong; no issues, major or minor. It has an Edelbrock intake, Edelbrock 600 cfm carb, MSD ignition system, 4-row radiator with electric fan. This pony gobbles air like a hungry beast…beautiful engine sound & exhaust note at idle and at 4,500 rpm. The manually-controlled, additional fan ensures that you won’t overheat, even on the hottest of days while stuck in traffic. It has headers & dual exhaust with Flowmaster 2 chamber mufflers. This 302 sounds angry—when you turn the ignition, tap the accelerator, & even sitting at idle…it sounds like a fire-breathing dragon…classic strong mustang sound! C4 transmission totally rebuilt with 7,000 miles on it—tranny is fresh…no slipping! And a new TCI torque converter. It has a new steel drive shaft. The 8” rear end has been rebuilt with 3.25 gears (strong/solid rear differential) & “posi” limited slip (Posi-Trac)—this tranny transfers power to the ground when you take off! All work on the engine, transmission & rear end was done by professionals. I have all documentation to verify. The only daily maintenance required is to plug in a battery trickle-charger. SUSPENSION: All suspension & steering components have been replaced. The front end is 1” lowered & has coil springs with rollerized spring perches with a ¾” sway bar—incredible steering control, even at very high speeds and the lowered front makes this stang look aggressive! The rear end has mid-eye, 5 leaf springs and GR2 gas adjust shocks all around—comfortable ride, but still hugs the road for control. It has manual steering (which I prefer with this car) through the real wood steering wheel—parking & slow turns require some muscle, but it’s well worth the trade off for the connection with road when you’re cruising. Power brakes (brand new master cylinder; and vacuum booster rebuilt) with discs up front (for safety/control), and drums in rear (for strong stopping power). The ride is firm but not harsh and it handles very well—you’ll feel like a badass when you’re driving. HISTORY: This was a California car from 1969-2005 (& still has Cali plates/registration!); since then it has been in northern LA, western FL, & central TX; the only time it wasn’t garaged was for 5 months in 2005 while in central California—during that time it was under a carport. It has always been kept in good condition. Non-smoker vehicle and never raced. Previous owner placed 3rd in one car show; I earned honorable mention at the 2005 San Jose annual classic show. I have all receipts for the major work done since owning the car and from previous owner. Everything on the car works properly and it needs nothing—drive it now. I really hate to sell this car, but I’ve got a new baby & had to decide between a boat & a classic car, I just don’t have the time for both anymore.$500 due within 48 hours of end of auction; full (remaining payment) due within 96 hours. Car is currently in San Antonio, TX. Buyer is responsible for pickup or to pay shipping costs--buyer's choice of delivery service (this fee is in addition to auction). I will drive/drop off up to 1 hour from San Antonio area, free of charge. I am willing to meet buyer anywhere along I-10 between San Antonio, TX and Ft Walton Beach, FL (East TX, Southern LA/MS/AL) for additional $200.
