Winding down my motorbike collection. Selling next 3 bikes. This RS, K1 and a GS PD separate auctions. Bought this bike out of Tennessee from the original owner many years ago. Other than the obvious, fluids, filters, tires, grease, bulbs, battery etc, this bike is in original condition. YES, not molested in any way. A true survivor. Although not pictured I DO have the dual seat and YES the snowflake rims (post recall). Mounted per pics are the rare Weinmann hand pinstripped rims. Comes with the luggage shown and a host of other cool period correct items. What, you say? How about a Cycle World magazine feature with this bike on the cover, Original Butler & Smith embossed "warranty" card, pints of original Glasurit paint (cannot gurantee its usefullness). But a few years ago I "sold" a can to a fellow enthusiast who literally begged me to do so he could respray a portion of his bike. And the list goes on and on. A revolutionary sport touring bike for its day, but you know that already. It's time for a new, appreciating owner. As most of my miles are now carried out by my K and GS bikes. Still keeping my RP r90s replica and probably a few other 247s for my little guy when gets of riding age. But these three are next on the block. Auction is for '77 R 100 RS only. She's been riden, serviced and appreciated by most who have seen her. You know the history and significance of this bike. And in this condition...rare! Current service, good tires and newer battery. I'll probably do a full service for the new owner, escpecialy if you are going to do a fly and ride. For the folks still stuck in winter (82 here today :) and looking for something to do, if I were to keep here I'd service the forks and the steering head bearings. she's not perfect and i'm sure if you spent a few hours she would detail up very nicely. but she is one of the best bikes on the planet.
