This Old Motorcycle is an example of the last and what I believe is most desirable model year for the CB400F (produced between 1975 & 1977). The CB400F has always been very collectible and some would argue even more so today... I purchased this motorcycle as a package deal along with another motorcycle. Please note that several component parts are not original to this motorcycle. This was an on-going project that the previous owner had enjoyed working on over the past few years and it was built to suite his tastes. There is no title however I will be glad to provide the buyer with a bill of sale. Again, this is not an original 1977 CB400F as configured from the factory. The following is a summary of modifications made to this motorcycle as described to me by the previous owner: - '75 CB750 Front Wheel & Fender (19in. vs. the std. 18in.) - '75 CB750 Tachometer & Speedometer - Actual mileage unknown! - '75 CB750 Left & Right Switch Cubes - '91 CB750 Front Brake Master Cylinder - '75 CB400F Fuel Tank (cosmetic damage) - '75 CB400F Horn (?) - '75 CB400F Side Covers - note tab repair on RHS Cover - Aftermarket Exhaust (Yoshimura?) Overall, this little CB400F presents very well as seen in the pictures. The frame was powder painted in Black, the side covers have been wet painted to the factory Red color specification. The seat is original and in very good condition with no rips in the cover. The carburetors were cleaned and synchronized one year ago. A new fuel petcock was installed and the engine painted and covers polished - a nice detail. The rear brake hub and brake reaction bar were also painted. The front brake caliper is leaking brake fluid around the periphery of the compression fitting at the caliper interface. From what I can see the final drive sprocket is missing along with the final drive chain, upper triple tree pinch screws (2), tool kit, owners manual, center stand (now the exhaust mount point) and possibly multiple other small bits and pieces. A new battery and most likely tires, among other items, will also be required. I do not have the original parts that were replaced. I installed a spare battery and have confirmed the engine will turn over very smoothly. You may also use the the kick start lever and in doing so you will observe what feels like is very good compression. I also confirmed some additional electrical work is required as the turn signal wires are reversed (left vs. right) and the headlight does not work. The horn and brake lights (front & rear switches) do work as do the lights on the control indicator panel. This in an incomplete motorcycle that will need a thorough mechanical inspection prior to placing it in service on the road. I suggest enlisting the help of a certified Honda mechanic to assist you with inspecting and servicing this motorcycle. This will make for a really fun project for the CB400F enthusiast...!
