Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE Racer/Cruiser Morgan 27' sloop, full wood/cloth interior, cushions, pressure cold water system (2 sinks) Port-O-Pottie. Sleeps 6(V-berth, 3 salon beds and very large quarterberth) Enclosed head/v-berth area. Ample storage areas to include cockpit locker/galley/nav station/under berth storage. Full sail inventory, to include several headsails (hank on) mainsail and 2 spinnakers. All the sails with this boat are Dacron as per stock...The mainsail is new as are several of the head sails + 1 spinnaker. Deep cycle battery, AM/FM/CD player wired for salon and cockpit speakers (BRAND NEW! purchased from west marine last week!). Aux input for your IPOD, phone or laptop. Marine VHF radio with weatherband also included. Inboard fuel tank and swim ladder as well. The deck is foam cored so there there is no balsa wood to rot out and cause soft spots!!! The Morgan requires some minor glasswork, paint, and wood to be a 10k boat. This boat sustained bow and side damage from loose boat impacts( very minor and I have already had the damage fixed, just needs paint, and the bow pulpit fell off (I have purchased a new bow pulpit that will fit, just needs to be bolted down. Last bottom job was 2010 and I have not sailed the boat since that time. Should be good to go with a scraping. I have cleaned all the teak inside and out and finished most of the interior with varnish as well as the planks. The exterior teak has about 5 coats on it and is still taped off but had to stop due to another project. The interior teak and holly floors have been cleaned and prepped, they will need one more good cleaning and you can start layering the varnish down. I will also throw in a original 1970's Morgan advertisement, straight out of a magazine that has been professionally framed for you to hang inside! Dinghies are allowed to remain at the public daydock downtown 24/7 and the dock itself is useable all day except from 1 to 6am in case you have folks that want to come aboard and grill, load provisions etc. Shower and laundry access is available for a fee (I think it's 30bucks or so a month) from the downtown marina. I usually pull up to the fuel dock to fill my 6 gallon gas can and they are very amiable if you want to fill your water can or spray off the topsides. . There is no charge for anchoring/mooring in the river or surrounding areas, though you are responsible for your boat and any damage it may cause. All you need to bring is a kayak, dinghy or johnboat to get back and forth. The public daydock downtown will tolerate up to approx a 12 foot johnboat for use as a dinghy to haul your stuff and visitors... There is a public boat ramp next to the daydock if you have a larger vessel and parking is free in the downtown parking lot provided you have a trailer on hand and park in the appropriate spots!!! The anchor system has a float so you can untie and leave it in place. Boat includes a hook pole for picking up the line. Quick and easy and no muddy anchor mess to deal with. In summary, this is a good opportunity to get into sailing/boating on the Beaufort river without spending a lot. Boat is perfect for staying the weekend on or living on the river, provided it does not become an eyesore for the Bay Street businesses. Excellent vantage spot for viewing all the Water Festival activities, doing some fishing, shrimping, crabbing-getting some oysters or just hanging out!!! Why pay rent??? This is the PERFECT sailboat for someone on a budget, who is not afraid to invest some time and effort!!! SEE YOU ON THE RIVER!!! Sold AS IS/WHERE IS!!!
