Up for auction is a 1998 Dodge RAM 2500 SLT with the desired 24 valve diesel engine. I am listing this vehicle for my dad who purchased this vehicle brand new in 1998 and has owned it ever since. A very high percentage of the miles on this vehicle are freeway commuting miles, he used to drive 75+ miles each way to work prior to his retirement. This truck has never been abused in any way, used to carry a camper or pull a trailer other than a light utility trailer a few times. This truck has only been in four-wheel drive to drive on snowy roads which does not happen very often in Western Washington. This truck has always been professionally maintained by a local business that specializes in servicing heavy duty diesel trucks and all records are available and will be included in the sale. For the life of the vehicle Amsoil synthetic lubricants have been used in the engine and rear-end, Google it if you are not familiar. This truck is only being sold because he recently bought a new ½ ton truck and this one has just sat in the shop since. Recent Repairs / Upgrades: A few months ago the headlights and fog lights were replaced with halogen upgrades (including lenses) Both batteries were replaced in December of 2012 Tires have over 50% of the tread left on them, they are LT315/75R/16’s and the wheels are all in good condition with no dings or curb rash. Factory sound system was replaced with a removable face alpine single CD with satellite radio and a USB connection and four new Memphis audio speakers. Brake calipers and rotors were replaced and are in good working order. Transmission was replaced on March 24th of 2011 and only has 41,000 miles on it. Upgraded exhaust system is 3” all of the way from the manifolds Aftermarket cold air intake box Fuel pump and injector pumps were both replaced in 2012. Quality fiberglass canopy with felt lining and rear brake light Fiberglass fender flares The minor imperfections on this truck are: Two golf ball sized dents (one on hood and on in tailgate) Light scuffing on rear corner on passenger side and on the drivers’ side rear fender flare. The inside of the bed is heavily scuffed but not rusted or dented (a spray-in bead liner would cure this). The rear bumper has several dings and dents from parking lot contact. I have provided pictures of all of these items and would be happy to take more if needed. The carpeting is worn but does not have any holes in it. The handle for adjusting the drivers’ side seat back is missing. All of these items could fairly easily and inexpensively be repaired or you could take this truck and use it as-is for many more years without doing anything. I have sold a lot of automotive related items on here including two fairly valuable classic cars all with perfect feedback, I error on the side of being very critical of any imperfections. This vehicle is sold as-is where it is which is Mount Vernon, WA (98274). If you want to ship it we will take care of getting it loaded onto the truck you hire. If you want to fly in to Seattle we will meet you there and you can drive away with the truck and title in hand (provided funds are cleared). Given this trucks mechanical condition and winter road worthiness I would be comfortable driving this thing across the country in the dead of winter.
