Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE HE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 1966 Chevrolet Corvair Monza 110 Hp Convertible 4 Speed Manual Transmission Runs great! --- Upgrades Done --- Installed Clark's Corvair Parts "Ultimate" Exhaust System Headers & Mufflers (Value: $460)Installed Wolf Enterprise "Performance" Dual Carburetors & carb gaskets (Value: $320)Installed Pertronix Ignitor II Electronic Ignition & Flamethrower II Coil (Value: $170)Installed Airtex Electric Fuel Pump & polished plug/cork for engine bay pump hole, installed hidden toggle “cut-off” switch to disable pump as theft deterrent. Pump turns on with ignition key in “On” position so carburetors can be “primed” prior to starting. (Value: $90)Recent tune-up done: Replaced distributor cap, rotor and gasket, spark plugs and spark plug wires, air filter, oil filter and changed oil with expensive ($12/quart!!) Amsoil Z-Rod Synthetic oil which contains necessary zinc additives. Adjusted Timing and synced carbs (Value: $185) --- Condition --- Moderate rust in some places but not so severe, except for rear floors, mainly right side rear floorboard. Brand new pair of rear floor-pans are included in sale worth $400!A few weeks ago, the brake pedal loosened up and doesn't engage. The brakes, fluids and cylinders are fine, the issue is with the pedal mechanism and should be a simple fix; most probably just a simple pin that loosened and came out of place.Heater not working. I haven't looked into it so not sure the reason.Original AM radio but speaker is missing (new speakers and amp included).Issue with the alternator voltage regulator as the Generator "idiot light" is on; however, it doesn't currently affect power/performance at all. Either way, I'm including in the sale a beautiful polished 80amp internally regulated alternator (that can be single wire connected) worth $129.The gear shifter is a bit difficult to get in reverse. It just takes some fiddling. This is always due to wear in the shifter coupler as well as the shifter shaft bushings. I'm including in the sale a new shifter coupler worth $59, as well as a pair of brass bushings (which are better than the stock nylon bushings) worth $29.Convertible top is decent with no leaks. It does need some adjustment as there are small openings where it meets the rear windows (probably can be sewn shut) and the rear window is a bit floppy.Thermostat Bellows needs replacing as bellow doors remain open.Exhaust gaskets need replacing as there is minor backfiring due to exhaust leak.Vehicle has passed 2013 NY State safety inspection and is registered/insured as a "Historic" vehicle. --- Tons of Extras Included! --- Pair of rear floorpans (Value: $400)Polished 80amp Internally Regulated Alternator (Value: $129)New "Humphugger" Center Console (Value: $139)New Car Cover (Value: $100)New Pioneer Speakers + 500w MP3 Amplifier (Value: $70)New Shifter Coupler (Value: $59)New Shifter Shaft Brass Bushings (Value: $29)Boot for Convertible Top (Value: $195)New Glove Box Liner (Value: $29)Exhaust baffles if muffler is too noisy for your taste (Value: $20)Extra Stone Carb Fuel Filters (Value: $18)Extra Fuel Pump Filter (Value $25)Extra Air Filter (Value: $15)Extra Fan Belt (Value: $20)Extra quart of Amsoil Z-Rod Synthetic Oil (Value: $12)Extra used red vinyl seat cover (Value: $20)Trim Pad/Door Panel Removal Tool (Value $20)Uni-Syn Carburetor Synchronizing Tool (Value: $30)Collectible Corvair Gold-plated Ignition Key cut (Value: $40)Monza emblem for glovebox (Value: $10)Original 1966 Corvair Owner's Guide (Value: $15)Original 1965 Corvair Shop Manual (Value: $30)Original 1966 Corvair Shop Manual Supplement (Value: $20)Corvair Body Service Manual (Value $40)1966 Corvair Wiring Diagram (Value $10)"Corvair For the Not So Mechanically Inclined" by Perry Moore + supplement (Value: $24)"The Classic Corvair" by Bob Helt (Value: $30)Several Clark's Corvair Parts catalogs (Value: $6) Total value of upgrades, parts and extras included: $2780 !!!! --- Video of Motor Running --- Terms & Conditions: Local pick-up only in Brooklyn, NY 11234. Buyer is responsible for shipping arrangements and fees. Due to current issue with brake pedal noted above, car cannot be driven for safety reasons, but running condition of the vehicle is exactly as described. The car runs great. Vehicle has passed 2013 NY State safety inspection and is registered/insured as a "Historic" vehicle. Note that NY state does not issue vehicle titles for cars older than 1973; rather, the vehicle registration is transferable and used as title/proof of ownership. $500 deposit due immediately upon auction end via Paypal payment.
