You are bidding on (1) RARE ONE OWNER 1981 FORMULA FIREBIRD VIN # 1G2AV87W7BL116106 with only 101,000 miles. This car is equipped with a 301 4V Carburetor, 4-Wheel Disc brakes, 3.08 Posi-Track, Factory Air Conditioning, Cruse Control and 3 speed Automatic Transmission. Original Window Sticker is shown in the pictures. A full list of options are listed on this sticker. HISTORY: I purchased the car brand new in March of 1981. This car was a Dailey driver from 1981 – 1989 and in the spring of 1989 the car was put into storage with 48,000 Miles. In the year 2000 the car was returned to service and was once again was a daily driver from 2000 – 2007. In April of 2007 the car was retired and put back into storage. During the years from 2000 – 2007 the following work as performed: WORK PERFORMED: “ All Work Was In House, I do all my own work” 1. New Brake Master Cylinder. 2. New Master Cylinder Power Booster. 3. All New GATES Green Stripe Heater Hoses. 4. All New Belts. 5. All New Radiator & Hoses 6. Refurbished Wheels. 7. New Monroe Shocks. 8. Brand new 255/50/15 Tires up front and rear. 9. Replaced Quadrajet Carburetor Holly 650 CFM spread bore Carburetor with electric choke and vacuum secondary’s. Factory Carburetors in 1981 were computer command controlled and a real mess. The computer Command was disabled and replaced with pre-1981 equipment including distributor. 10. Replaced Electric Advanced Distributer with Vacuum Advanced Model. 11. New Timing Chain, Water pump, Fuel Pump, Pump backing plate and gaskets. 12. New Gas Tank, Fuel Sender and New Windshield. 13. New Wiper Motor. 14. New Aluminum High Torque Starter. I gave up on the rebuilt ones they were all junk. 15. Set ignition timing and dialed in Carburetor. 16. New Plugs, Plug Wires Cap and Rotor. 17. New AM/FM/CD Radio. 18. New Speakers. 19. New A/C Compressor. 20. New A/C Hoses. 21. Evacuated and recharged AC system with Freon 12 22. Rebuilt Transmission Installed. 23. New floor mats. 24. New A/C Blower Motor 25. Resealed Power Steering Pump and replaced Hoses. 26. New Brake pads. 27. New Rear Calipers. 28. Rebuilt parking brake cable. 29. Flushed Cooling system and refilled. 30. New 85 Amp Alternator 31. Bleed and adjust brakes. 32. New Muffler. 33. New Convertor. Yes it still has a catalytic convertor. 34. New Valve Cover Gaskets. More like new gasket sealer since this car does not use gaskets. Anyway it was a real pain to remove the passenger side valve cover. The A/C compressor is in the way. CONDITION: This car is a survivor. This car has never been in a wreck or body shop. The Paint has been touched up over the years and is mostly original. All decals and stripes are original. The Interior is original and close to new. The dash is perfect and the gauges all work including the clock. The head liner needs some attention due to shrinkage but is original. The AC was just recharged and is nice and cold. The engine purrs like a kitten. The body needs some work to be perfect. A few dings and small dents and most were caused by storing too many heavy items on the hood and roof. The spare tire was replaced with new since the old one was way too old to use. The jack is 100% complete. The engine has never been out of the car all internal components are factory original. The door panels are perfect, the seats are almost as nice. This car has had only (2) drivers for it entire life span. Both were female and 130 lbs. dripping wet. The first was my wife and then my daughter. Neither drove this car hard and neither wreaked it. I could have not asked for anything more. SPARE PARTS INCLUDED: Original A/C Compressor. Original Alternator New Front Brake Calipers in the box and New U-Joints in the boxes. New A/C Evaporator in the Box. New Battery tray, New EGR Valve in box. (1) Wheel Cap. Original Starter and (1) Spare. Original Distributor but the original carb is long gone. Wiper Motor. What ever else I can find before the car sells. MANUALS INCLUDED: OWNERS MANUAL SHOP MANUAL FISHER BODY MANUAL SUMMARY: This car is not perfect but as nice as you will find. It’s all Trans Am underneath. This car has never left Texas. No rust anywhere, never driven in snow or on salt roads. All suspension bushings look great and she drives straight when you let go of the steering wheel. Both car door close perfect and have that new car sound. This car has no leaks, oil spots and can be driven as is. This car does drive and ride just like all 1981 and earlier Firebirds. Rough compared to todays standards but great compared to 1981 standards. WHY I AM SELLING: I just purchased my second DeTomaso Pantera and I need the garage space. I hate to let the car go but I have my hands full with (2) Pantera’s so the Firebird needs to go. PRICE: The car is like no other that I know of so the price I am asking seems reasonable compared to the other cars I have seen for sale that look like they need to be on one of those TV reality shows.
