High quality early Excelsior board track racer tribute bike. This is a custom built bike from my personal collection made to replicate an early board track racer. If you have done any research on early board track racers you know these bikes are extremely rare and very expensive, This bike gives you the look and feel of the pre 20's racers at a much more affordable cost. This motorcycle is a combination of old prewar period correct parts that have been customized to fit this application and a new import engine to keep the cost down. This is NOT a huffy... painted up to look like an old american motorcycle... This cycle was produced from strong american DOM steel donor bikes from the 30's & 40's. Each part on this cycle was hand selected or custom fabricated for this build. Unlike some of the other replica bikes found on Ebay, this one has a functional leaf spring suspension front end. The paint on this bike was done to replicate the desirable "barn find" old oxidized patina that you would see on an actual pre 20's motorcycle. Take a look at the pics, most people cannot even tell that it is not real rust. The feel you get and the smile on your face when riding this bike cannot be described, true vintage nostalgia!! I have had countless compliments and quite a few conversations with people when riding and displaying this bike and it only has about 5 miles on it! This bike is currently an art installation in my home and makes a great display piece. While I believe this bike deserves to be displayed, it is also a fully functional motorcycle and can and should be ridden. The bike has a clutch, twist throttle and kill switch like the old ones have, and I have added a coaster brake for safety - something the original board track racers did not have. I've had this bike up over 30mph on level ground - feels like 50 on this thing! Again, this is a high quality fully functional motorcycle with a lot of attention to detail. As with all bikes of this type mechanical upkeep and checking of bolts is required for safety. The air and fuel filters are not installed in these pictures, but will be shipped with the bike. The rear wheel stand is included with purchase for display or starting. Shipping is the buyers responsibility, but I can assist if requested. Local pickup is always available. I have shipped these bikes through U-ship in the past for around $250 coast to coast just to give you a rough estimate. I can disassemble the bike and ship in separate boxes, but there will be an up charge of $50 on top of the estimated shipping costs. This is a no reserve auction so the highest bid takes it. This auction is for continental US residents only. A $500 deposit is due upon auction end with the remainder due within 7 days by cashiers check, money order, or through pay pal before shipment will occur.
