Vehicle Detail

1991 Cadillac Brougham D'elegance -- 48,000 Original Miles! You are looking at the ugliest 1991 Cadillac currently for sale -- there is not a more cosmetically worn, mechanically perfect, more original car on (or off) the market. This car is ALL ORIGINAL with no modifications, repaints, etc.  Finished in the once beautiful Antelope Firemest, it is as far from cosmetically flawless as one would NOT expect from a 48,000 mile original car. Look through the pictures -- they speak for themselves.  You're probably asking yourself 'how in the hell did this happen to such a low mileage car' -- the story goes like this:  This car belonged to two older ladies for a majority of its life -- the first older lady selling to the second, and the second keeping the car until she could no longer drive.  It's a florida car and the story follows the typical pattern of 'only driven to the store and church' and sat the rest of the time...but with a twist: The lady didn't have a garage; the Brougham sat outside in the Florida weather for 20 years. So, what you see is the result of a humid, hot climate. The grandson of the second lady took posession of the car when she was no longer able to drive and decided to restore it.  He got about as far as ripping what was left of the vinyl roof off when a check engine light derailed his plans and he sold it to me.  The check engine light ended up being the result of him disconnecting the power antenna and, at the same time, unplugging the distributor wire that is only to be unplugged when setting the timing (it keeps the computer from continuously compensating the iginition timing). So, she looks ragged and runs like new. I'll do my best to describe every piece of the car, but feel free to ask questions.  Exterior The exterior baked -- the vinyl roof is gone as are the rear fillers and the paint is somewhat of a mat finish with a couple sections losing the clearcoat (driver's side door and driver's side front of the hood). I've done nothing to the paint except for a good wash, so she would probably shine up a bit with the exception of the areas missing clear.  Rust is minimal with the only part being a section of the roof near the trimline of the body on the driver's side, but it's not rusted through. One of the lower stainless panels fell off the car, but I have the piece and it's not damaged. All cadillac crests are faded from the sun, but present and the light lenses (both front and rear) are in very good shape (the headlights and turn lenses are flawless). The chrome bumpers are in excellent shape, but there are some missing vinyl strips (rear bumper strip and front driver's side strip).  The hubcaps all have curb rash with the exception of one (the centers are in excellent shape).   Interior The leather is pretty heavily baked from sitting in the sun, but is still quite soft. There are a few popped seams on the seats, but no tears whatsoever. To speak to the level of use, you'll see a picture below that shows the burn mark around where the seatbelt sat on the rear seat for what I can only assume was years. The carpet is decent with a couple stains here and there, but still quite nice. The headliner has been replaced, but it wasn't the best job and I would have it redone.  The upper dash is cracked and the lower dash is decently hard but still intact. All the woodgrain trim is present and appears in good condition. The steeringwheel leather has seen better days, but is not torn away. Here's a bulleted list of what works:  WORKS Twilight Sentinel Climate control (A/C and Heat plus all vent controls) Rear window defogger Gauge cluster (no funny digits showing up) Dash lights Idiot lights  Power mirrors Crusise control All seatbelts Door lights Power locks (lock/unlock when going into gear plus all unlock from exterior key) Power windows (with the exception of the driver's) Tilt/telescoping wheel (not loose) Trunk release DOESN'T WORK Auto release for the parking brake (bad diaphram) Overhead interior lights Driver's side window Radio Mechanical This car runs, drives, and stops VERY well.  It just passed safety inspection and does not drip a single drop of anything (the underside is completely dry). I just changed the engine oil in addition to having the transmission filter changed and the rear diff fluid changed (A+ Tranmission Specialist). See the videos below -- she starts quick everytime no matter the temp. The brakes are in excellent shape (anti-lock works) and I recently replaced the passenger side rear wheel cylinder due to a slight leak.  I bought a new driver's side rear as well, but have not replaced it since it's not leaking (the new one comes with the car). The air 'level ride' system is original and works well -- you'll hear and see the compressor cycle in the startup video. Steering is tight and the car doesn't wander or track strangely. Tires are BRAND NEW. Here are the highlights of what is new: NEW PARTS Spark control module Distributor module Rear wheel cylinders Air filter Engine oil/filter Transmission fluid/filter Rear diff fluid  Tires (400 miles) I've tried to shoot every angle of this car, but do not hesitate in requesting additional shots if you feel I've missed out on any areas. This car has nothing to hide!
