1976 Honda CB400F Super Sport -- the original café racer! My parents are moving into a smaller place so I am selling my dad's 1976 Honda CB400F Super Sport. Only 9,584 original miles. I've been riding the motorcycle so mileage may be slightly higher at time of sale. I would consider the motorcycle an 8 or 9 mechanically and a 6 or 7 cosmetically. Nice two finger clutch pull and snick-snick crisp shifting. The bike had sat for a few years and I recently performed a complete tune-up including ignition timing, compression check, valve adjust, carb rebuild and sync, new spark plugs, oil and filter, and a new Honda air filter. Installed new front brake pads (still had originals!). No leaks. Has a newer battery. Chain and sprockets are in great condition. Front sprocket is 1 tooth smaller than stock which improves acceleration. Original front sprocket is included. Tires have good tread but are older. I would say they are ok for around town but I would replace before a long trip or very "spirited" riding. The bike was originally red but had some sun fading so Dad primered with the intent of eventually repainting. The gas tank is fantastic -- no dents or dings. The classic CB400F header is in great condition. I do not have the original muffler. The bike has a nice upswept 3" Supertrapp with stainless clamps. Sounds great. The rims are clean and rust free. The chain guard looks good but appears to have some rust forming under the chrome in a few spots. The frame paint is decent but it looks like a little battery acid or fumes have discolored the paint slightly below the right side cover and around the swingarm on the right side. Everything works except the horn. There is voltage at the horn, it just doesn't sound. Would likely need replaced. I have the other original rear view mirror and it will be included. Includes a Clymer service manual and templates for applying the original gas tank decals. This bike would make a killer custom café racer or could be restored to original.
