Vehicle Detail
Reluctant Sale of my 1971 911E Sunroof to fund the restoration of a 1961 356 Notchback. I purchased this Southern car 3/2002 from a young man in North Carolina. I know little of the early history of the car other than it came originally from Florida. The original color body tag says 1111-G which is Ivory, but the car has been repainted in white at some time in it's life. From 2006--2009, health issues meant the car was only started frequently in garage. I have driven the car appx. 6,000 miles in the 11 1/2 years I have owned it. The car included an extensive set of receipts for parts and service which I have continued to add to. From the receipts, here are some of the major items done with dates & mileage:2000--Koni Inserts2001--102,811--Rebuilt front/rear Calipers. (S Calipers)--2 ball joints--turn signal relay front A-Arm Bushings--4 wheel alignment--clean/repack CV Joints & new boots2002--Shifter bushing kit2003--Watershield air cleaners--rebuild Weber carbs Pressure-fed tensioners were added by previous owner. Things I have done:2003--MSD Ignition & Coil--Mangecor Wire Set--19 row-235 mm Fender Oil Cooler-- Gold Porsche letters on rear hood. New carb fuel pump2004--Hi Torque Starter2013--105,926--Valves adjusted, heads retorqued and timing set (local shop)2010--Coco Floor Mats--Por 15 Gas Tank treatment, outside of tank painted, new fuel lines2011--Bought 1971 Sport Seats. Driver side recovered by Auto's International. Pass seat original. Set of Sumitomo HTR A/5 P01 tires 195/65 R 152013--Clutch cable--voltage regulator I added the Steel S Front bumper, the Cibie Driving lights with NOS thru-the-grill horn grills and the Sport Seats with correct 1971 vinyl pattern. Also a period-correct radio that is not working. Sunroof opens and closes as it should. The trunk lights work. Flaws:The paint is not perfect with some chips and other flaws from driving and time. The driver's side door stay is brokenNeeds new Heat exchangers or headers--carbs pop due to holes in head exchangers. One stud nut will not tighten, so assume it is pulled and needs a timecert repair for that studThe transmission syncros are worn in the 915 trans. 3rd and 4th can be difficult, but the car is driveable. We drove to the 356 event in Helen, Ga from Knoxville in Sept. I am not a dealer or a car flipper. I have owned this car for 11.5 years. It has been stored in my above-ground dry garage. There is no Warranty expressed or implied. The car is 42 years old. I would not recommend purchaser driving it home unless a short distance. I welcome inspection of the car during the auction if you are local. Will attempt to answer any questions. Will work with a foreign buyer by delivering the car to a local site for the shipper to load. Car and title will not be released until funds clear. Cash or wire transfer to my bank for payment. All photos and a few extra may be seen here: http://s89.photobucket.com/user/lynnsabcs/library/ On Nov-13-13 at 08:23:25 PST, seller added the following information: Photos underneath the car may be seen at the link to photo bucket. All 5 wheels were polished And painted. All wheels including the spare are original Fuch wheels and not reproductions. I am a 30+ year member of PCA and 356 Registry. On Nov-14-13 at 05:57:09 PST, seller added the following information: 2.7 engine is from a 1974 and trans is a 915. On Nov-14-13 at 06:26:30 PST, seller added the following information: I do not have a COA in hand so I can not answer the question "is this a number matching car". The engine is #6141560 and the trans is a 915 not a 901 so it is from a later car than a 1971.On Nov-15-13 at 11:49:15 PST, seller added the following information: $50,000. or Best Offer.
