Vehicle Detail
Year: 1992 (last of the E30s) Color: Granitsilber, a rare and very attractive medium/dark metallic Mileage: 155,xxx Condition: It is a completely rust-free car that has spent its whole life (until this spring) in CA and TX. I've owned two other southern E30s, and each had some tiny surface corrosion underneath, the odd yellowing stone chip, or some tiny sign of oxidation somewhere. This one has nothing like that. It is truly rust-free. Interior and dash are perfect, but the seats are dried/cracked. See the pictures. Reason for sale: I bought it earlier this year in Dalla s from another member of an E30 enthusiast forum. The initial plan was to find a hardtop and drive it year-round. Now I'm realizing it is too clean for that, so I would prefer to either sell it vs. store it. Mileage: I bought it with 149k, drove it home, and have only done an additional 4k miles in 7 months. It now sits at roughly 153k. Details Suspension (all done in past few years): - H&R Sports (vert specific)) - Bilstein HDs - Meyle Control Arms - Meyle CABs - Meyle Sway Links - Meyle Tie Rod Assemblies - Meyle RSMs Tires: Michellin Pilot Exalto A/Ss(still 75%+ life left) Engine (all done in past few years unless noted): - Coolant Hose Refresh - Fan Clutch - Thermostat - Water Pump and TBelt done @ 121k Other: - Blunttech SSK and ZHP knob (best shifter of any E30 I've driven) - OEM IS Lip - Transmission Seals (rear shaft, selector shaft) - Transmission Mounts - CSB - Guibo - Power Steering Hoses/Reservoir - Rear Headrest Conversion - e46 Keyless Entry - I have disconnected this and just use the OEM key - Boston Acoustic Components up front - Pioneer CD with iPod/aux input (red lighting that matches OEM fairly well) - Alpine F250 4 channel Amp - 10" Audiobahn Sub - OEM Convertible Top was replaced in 2011 - converted to "semi-auto," so the tonneau opens with the dash button, but you fold it manually - Dash is perfect - OBC works great. - New outdoor temp sensor - AC blows cold - Original Paint/Original Panels. All matching VINs. - Original Owners Manual and Keys. - Complete Tool Kit In my 7 months of ownership, I have added new OEM floor mats, changed the oil, and replaced the battery. The battery went flat a few months ago, so I took it to an independent BMW shop to confirm there were no parasitic drains. I replaced the battery and pulled the fuse on the alarm/keyless entry just to be safe. Hasn't been an issue since. Negatives: - Seats are rough but not falling apart. - Dent in the rear quarter that would come out with PDR - SRS light on - Rear brake pads are thin but not shot. Rotors look fine. Front pads/rotors have plenty of life. This is the only thing on the (low-priority) to do list. It needs nothing else.
