Vehicle Detail

1965 BMW R100/2 conversion bike. This beauty started life as 1965 BMW/2. It has a late 70s R100/7 engine and `74 5 speed transmission installed in place of originals. 31168 miles on running gear, minus engine and trans. Engine was believed to have less than 40K on it upon installation and I have to mention that the trans shifts very smooth! Bike was assembled in 1997 and had roughly 20K miles on speedo at the time. This machine was built and has been regularly ridden and maintained by a certified BMW tech, Myself. I have built four /2 conversion bikes over the years. I'm keeping two of the others, but need to thin out the heard for an R90/6 cafe that's on my bench. Bike is titled as a 1965 BMW /2. Frame numbers match title. Engine number is 6147009. This is a solid running and riding bike that pulls like a freight train! It starts up easily in hot or cold weather(just use the choke when it is cold) Its got a few bumps and bruises throughout, but has never left me stranded! NEVER! I rode this bike from Lincoln Ne to Boston, and back one year. I have done 750 mile days on this puppy. All day comfort. Solid 12 volt charging system with electric starter, all electrical components are factory BMW. Basically the only thing that isn't German on this machine are the seat and tires. Old school Bates style spring solo seat. Avon tires with only a few hundred miles on them. Look closely at the pictures, you will see her bumps and bruises. Front fender has been confronted by the cross bar on earles fork a time or two. It could use a paint job if you wanted a show piece. It has 16 years of regular use on body. I painted the tins dark metallic green, but frame and forks original black. Everything is in good working order with the exception of the kicker. I believe the the return spring might be bad. I don't ever use the kicker, It has a nice newer Gel battery in it that spins it over easily. You will enjoy riding this motorcycle!!!On Nov-05-13 at 16:17:47 PST, seller added the following information: +++++++++++++++UPON FURTHER INSPECTION OF TITLE BIKE IS 1964 NOT 1965 AS STATED.++++++++++++++++++ SORRY FOR ANY CONFUSION. AGAIN TITLED AS 1964. CLEAN CLEAR NEBRASKA TITLE.
