Vehicle Detail
The recently-taken pictures say it all. This is a beautiful '72 GT 750 that has been restored and maintained meticulously since I bought it in 2002. No rust! This bike has been garaged at all times and receives regular service and maintenance. The clutch/transmission has been rebuilt and all pistons, rings, gaskets/seals, etc... have been replaced with new OEM parts. The exhausts have been professionally cleaned (inside and out) and professionally re-chromed. The electric starter is operational as are all other electrical systems on the bike. I am including the manuals and a few spare parts from the restore project such as OEM handle bars (I chose the more modern looking black straight bars), brake shoes, and other miscellaneous items. In addition to every other part of the bike, the exhausts have been professionally cleaned (inside and out) and re-chromed. The inner baffles within each exhaust are brand new. All rebuild work on the engine/crank, clutch, transmission was performed by licensed professional mechanics at either the Suzuki dealership or a custom cycle shop that specialized in 2 stroke motorcycles. I remember that the transmission was sent to a company that specialized in rebuilds for 2 strokes. When anyone touched this bike, I made sure that the work was done right and that includes replacing seals and gaskets with new OEM products. That is how I approached all mechanical or other work on this bike--like the re-chroming work on the pipes that I paid to have done. I researched the best company, asked them about the details of their re-chroming "process", and made sure that they did it right. In addition, the starter clutch bearings were replaced and updated with the later-model double bearings. I also replaced the sleeve on which the starter clutch bearings ride because the bike was opened up anyway and it just needed to be done. The starter clutch on the '72 bikes were notorious for failing with the single-bearings. Suzuki fixed this beginning in, I believe '73. So I also addressed this during the rebuild. Again, if I was going to go through the trouble of doing anything on this bike I was going to make sure that we got in there and addressed everything right the first time.Because of the extensive mechanical work that I paid to have done on this bike, I cannot remember how the water pump was addressed, but I am very particular about the care and performance of things and if that needed to be addressed it was going to be a total job with full attention to everything that needed to get addressed while the bike was opened up and out of service. Some minor adjustments like the rear brake cable tightening remain, but this is a well-done rebuild with quality work and parts. I tried to find my receipt box and have not had any luck, thus far. In any event, I take care of my vehicles and when I pay/paid money to have something done I made sure that it was done correct. Let me know if you have any additional questions.
