I bought this car new in 1984 The engine is original and is worn out (lots of blow by). I purchased a used engine from a 1981 diesel with the intention of installing it in this car. both engines and transmissions are included in this auction. the 1981 engine was rebuilt professionally and has less than 1000 mile on the overhaul the car it was in was wrecked and then parked by the owner for about 20 years. before removing the engine from the car i just bumped the starter to be sure it was free and to my astonishment it started and ran fine. after removing it and striping it down to the block i noticed that the freeze plugs where missing? i presure checked it as best i could and found no cracks so i believe that they just rusted out. about 15 years ago and less than 2000 miles I replaced the following. All suspension bushing bearings and struts, all brake hardware hoses and lines including the master cylinder. rack and pinion. rebuilt the injector pump and injectors. has been sitting in my yard for at least 5 years I cannot guarantee that some of these items will not need to be addresses again especially the brakes. I know the rear brakes are locked up due to rust but will probably free up with a little coaxing. The sun roof drains are stopped up and it has had some water intrusion to the interior as a result. the Head liner was replaced but has fallen down again due to the moisture. All of the parts are included you get two complete engines and transmissions. This was my first brand new car and it is hard for me to let it go but there is just not enough time to put it back together as well as I am tired of hearing my wife complain about it sitting in the yard.
