Vehicle Detail
This car war purchased by Hurst performance direct from Detroit early 1978. Hurst was looking for candidate's for it's new innovative Hurst Hatch's . From what I understand a number of different type's of vehicle's were recruited . The Trans-Ams were probably the most popular recipient's. When Hurst finished retrofitting these cars they were offered to the employee's at the Hurst factory in Warminster,Pa. This particular car was offered to the chief tool designer, Edward R. coordinator on many special project's like the shifters for the 64 Pontiac GTO. He worked with George Hurst daily. Ed is now in his nineties and still get's on pretty well. He is a friend and mentor. I am selling the car for him. He purchased this car for his wife Madeline in March 1979 , this is when the car was first titled. The mileage is original. The car is original except for the paint (redone in 1997). When I brought it to my shop from his garage here's what I did. Went over the car mechanically ,ball joints ,brakes, rotors, cut drums, repaired brake lines, new muffler etc. basically got the car road ready since it sat in the garage for the past 15 years. The under side of the car had loose scale rust, cleaned it up with a wire wheel and painted it. Hand waxed the exterior , cleaned and dressed the leather and trim. On a scale from 1 to 10 the car is a strong 7. The car runs and drives well. The car has been serviced and has the latest Pa inspection . I am actually located less than a mile from the Hurst Performance's original factory in Pa. This of course not a Hurst olds , but it is an interesting vehicle with an interesting back round. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Thanks For Looking !
