This truck is perfect mechanically. Everything works and nothing is needed. I teach auto mechanics at a community college and we keep it perfect as student projects. Brakes are very recent, ball joints are new, all front end parts are tight or new. Tires are new Michelin LTX LRR (low rolling resistance). Oils get changed regularly including trans and diff. I am the second owner. The original owner traded it in to the dealer he bought it from and I bought it there in about 2006. So I have had it for most of its life. It has a limited slip diff. I also have a set of Bridgestone Blizzak snow tires mounted on spare rims to go with the truck. It gets an honest 23 to 24 mpg on the highway and 21 to and from work. I have added many extras for durability and fuel economy including: Gear Vendor overdrive unit gearvendors.com . This is a 22% overdrive that results in 1800 rpm at 75 mph. It was a $2500 addition to the truck. Low RPMs mean long engine life and good mileage. Amsoil bypass filter. Filters the engine oil down to 2 microns vs the 35 microns for a normal filter. I generally use "economy" mode but can go to level 4 for towing up a hill if needed. On our dyno at school it went from 195 HP 400 lb torque to 320 hp and 600 ft lb torque.
