Vehicle Detail
Listed for your consideration is my 1969 Pontiac Tempest Custom S - GTO Clone. This car is a California built Pontiac that spent most of its life on the western part of the country. This is a very clean, driver cloned to look like a 1969 GTO. It is painted the original color, Champagne, and came with a black vinyl top and gold interior. I added a GTO hood and trunk lid, along with an endura bumper, fixed headlight grills and GTO specific tail lights and quarter panel marker lights. The marker light openings were welded in from a donor car. It also has a remote trunk release! New gold carpet, new parchment headliner, nearly new exhaust. To break up the gold and tie in the black top, I added the correct Judge style striping. The car is very clean, the doors, floor, frame and trunk floor are nice. The dash pad is extremely nice. No cracks, no damage. Am radio, standard gauges, Power Steering and Power Disc Brakes. The dash pad alone is nearly a thousand dollar item, if sold separately. The glove box door was missing from the car, I added a used on that I had, the paint is flaking off. I was planning on changing to black interior, with a 4 speed and buckets. The car runs, drives and shifts. The worst part of the car is the hood and trunk lid. Both were added my me prior to paint, and were no where near the condition of the rest of the car. There are a few small bubbles starting on both. I have about a quart and a half of thinned Champagne paint remaining that goes with the car as well. The car still has its 350 with a two barrel carb. It is a nice 5 to 10 foot car, that you could drive to around and not worry about. The car runs and drives, stops. It could use a couple of lighting gremlins fixed and a good buffing. This is a good entry level car, for very reasonable money. It could use detailing and cleaning up a bit. The interior door panels are a little dirty and the arm rests are chalky. I was planning on adding bucket seats and a floor shift to this car. I have the column and a set of core 69-72 buckets which CAN be included for an additional charge of $400 OVER the final price for anyone needing them. This car would be a great donor for that Judge or GTO project. It is difficult to find a car in such nice shape. I put this together for my daughter, but she decided that she would rather drive a 68 Firebird convertible that is next to paint. The car will sell, I priced it to go. I am out of space.
