1992 Volvo 240 base wagon with Dark Gray Metallic paint, gray cloth interior. This car is in phenomenal condition with 53,135 documented miles at the time of this informational text. Everything is original and everything is operational as new. This car was purchased as an estate settlement in late August of this year for the sole purpose of driving to California. I am a California attorney now based in the Midwest. I promised my wife that, as a bucket list adventure, we would drive back to California on Route 66 and then fly back to our central Illinois farm community. We are driving this car to San Diego starting on October 5th. I have business in San Jose for the week ending Sunday the 13th and will be driving the car back to the San Diego area (Oceanside, North County) on Sunday. We anticipate that the car will have 3,000 additional miles on the odometer at the time of Title transfer. The car will be available for pick up in the San Diego area or possibly in the San Jose area to the successful bidder. HISTORY AND VEHICLE DETAIL: The vehicle was purchased as a used vehicle by the decedent on 2/17/96. At the time of transfer, Title number: N6805695, State of Illinois, the vehicle had 24,892 original miles. When I took possession of the car, an oil change data sticker on the car recommended a change oil date of 11/2/06 or at 55, 455. (the successful bidder will have this documentation at time of tendering vehicle and Illinois title.) The car’s condition is absolutely amazing for an untouched original car. This car is from the Midwest, yet it is rust-free. Central Illinois farm communities use a cinder base traction substance during the winter months, unlike the heavy salted areas of more urban areas. The condition of this car reflects that preservation of these older cars. This Volvo wagon is the 4 cylinder base model, 2.3L 4 cyl, rated at 114 HP, with A/C, electric windows, cruise control, am/fm cassette factory Volvo radio – TD-613 with front/ rear factory speakers, and auto transmission with passing gear electronic button. The cloth interior is in stunning condition. The engine runs as new and is smooth and quite. (this is like a new car.) You will not be disappointed with the condition of this used car. Please note that the car is completely original, as such, the photos will reflect some wear on the pin stripe as well as what I believe, dent impressions on the hood caused by a ball. There are also a few surface scratches noticeable on the hood. There are no side door dings. I was particularly interested in noticeable orange peel on the clear coat. I checked with the local Volvo dealer and they told me this was a common paint characteristic of 90’s Volvo. In fact, they told me that often times the dealers would color sand the factory paints to perfection. Please note that the car has not been detailed and could probably be a show stopper with a professional polish and detail. The car will be driven to California without a fresh polishing upon delivery. I am asking for a 500.00 dollar Pay Pal deposit with a cash balance at time of delivery. I will be flying back to the Midwest on October 14th, but the car will remain with my brother in Oceanside for a reasonable time thereafter for pick-up arrangements if necessary.
