Custom 2001 SAAB SE / Aero B205R FERRARI RED HATCHBACK 81,000 Actual Low MilesNO RESERVE SALE This is a rare B205R Saab, the 2001 HP B205R High Compression Aero engine model with custom paint & trims. Actual low miles, fully rebuilt & well maintained. In 2001, Saab put out a few of the remaining B205R, high compression engines left over from prior year stock of Aero & Viggen Models. This is a loaded SE, Aero boosted Saab with most options including winter package: leather seat heaters, fog lights, headlight washers & wipers, rear hatchback wiper, sport & winter modes. This hatchback also has the snow ski hole built into the back seat so they will fit into rear hatchback area, which can also fully drop down to make a huge cargo area using the trunk and combined rear split cargo seats. CAR HISTORY: This car was owned by the shop manager of a high end, exotic car center that had done work on my wife’s XKR. He purchased this low mileage TX car in 2002 for rebuild. He was a Saab enthusiast, and was looking for this rare model. This car was a light collision font end repair, needing a radiator support, radiator, new hood and grill. He also replaced the airbag assemblies; not the lap belts as they still functioned fine. Saab uses a seatbelt lock with the airbag system, and as long as belts work, they do not need replacement. They are bypassed by a test resistor when setting the new bags. At present one resistor ($15.00 cost) needs replacement to reset the light. System has been tested via Saab certified technician and all systems are in good operating order. Car was safety, mechanical & parts inspected by WA State Patrol in 2007 prior to licensing; see photo of WA State Certification & Saab Vin stickers. He did not put the car onto the road for almost 5 years. It was a forgotten project until his college bound daughter needed a new car so he completed it for her. Ferrari Red CUSTOM PAINT & TRIMS: Why does this Sab look a little different?? Note all the body trims, body side black trims and grills were also painted red to match the car. Emblems were “shaved”; removed from the car for a clean look. I do have the rear 9-3 Aero back end emblem for the car if you wish it. The factory Saab Lasar Red is a very close match to the PPG Ferrari Red paint, which was actually used on this rare Saab. I do have photo of red Ferrari model used so you can see shade is almost identical…. as the Ferrarri Red “pops”…it is a little brighter & stands out a little more when parked next to a Laser Red car. Car also has the AERO style spoked wheels.MECHANICAL: Prior owner let his daughter drive this car from 2007, when first relicensed, to 2010 when I purchased the car from him for my college bound daughter. I had been hoping for years to get this car for myself, but when it came available I had just purchased a Viggen Convertible. She has really loved her Red Saab. A slight boost was given to the turbo, enough to feel the power, but still excellent MPG (20/26) on average. At the beginning of this year, appx 75,000 miles, the 75,000 mile service was fully done under the hood. I spent about $2,000.00 at a professional Saab certified shop: all new serpentine belts, all new pulleys & belt tensioner, valve covers were removed and internally new Saab OEM Factory roller timing chain was replaced, all new seals & gasket kits, etc. AS FOLLOWS: o New disc brakes; ceramic front, factory oem style rear o New engine timing chain, valve cover seals and gaskets. o New serpentine belt, new inner and out pulleys and belt tensioners. o Newer MXV4 Michelin all season radial tires, quiet & comfortable ride 60,000 mile rated. o Engine oil changed using full synthetic oils every 3,000 miles. When getting a Saab this series, 2000 to 2004 cars are basically the same so look for mileage, maintainence & condition. This Loaded Saab SE has not only had upgraded HO full engine replcament, it has always had full oil change, service every 3,000 miles or less with full synthetic oils. I have added a K&N free flow filter system for better mileage and performance. I always get about 20+MPG around town, and 26MPG+ on road with this car...with smooth & amazing power. I have just had a long life new battery installed with full warranty. You can see by photos that overall car is amazing condition. The body & paint is nor perfect but very nice nice as you can see. The interior, leather interior seats are excellent overall. I have loved this Red Saab and will be sorry to see it go!
