Vehicle Detail
This 1971 Corvette hits all the high notes: a matching-numbers NON Orig block & heads V8, gorgeous Brands Hatch Green paint, and a very attractive price tag. While the early mid year Stingrays with 427s get all the attention, if you're looking for a barn storming 'Vette with great power that doesn't foul its plugs in traffic w/ the transisitor ignition.. This car roars and is priced for quick sale... The body on this Stingray was refinished 2 years ago and still looks awesome. There are few cars that will attract more attention than a C3 and definitely none that are more widely recognized. Roll up in this fantastic plastic and EVERYBODY notices. Of course, it doesn't hurt that the bodywork is super straight, with excellent prep over well-preserved original fiberglass that has never been damaged. Brands Hatch Green is seldom seen today, but in 1971 it was second only to War Bonnet Yellow in terms of popularity, and rendered in modern two-stage urethane, it looks simply spectacular. Gaps are about as good as you can get on a C3 (just dig how flush the headlight doors and hood fit) and most Stingray fans prefer the chrome bumpers to the later urethane units. And speaking of brightwork, the bumpers are in driver condition, the stainless is polished, all the Stingray script emblems are in place, and the rocker moldings have been polished to a lovely satin glow. The car is a daily driver.. has surface rust on frame, some birdcage flaking but very solid. There maybe a few chips/nicks and a minor stressed area near L headlight (see pix). The carb is a 760 cfm dual feed with all original plumbing.. everything on the car is original except the block and heads.. dated 73. (i believe it was a warranty motor). 1971 corvette t top driver restored. 91k original miles, all orig , matching #s Has factory replacement lt-1 engine warranty replaced in 1973. The car has fresh 2 year paint on a never hit body with freshened up interior . One fast and beautiful car all the way down to the original glove box light still operational as well as the clutch safety switch (never out or bypassed)... The exhaust is aluminized chambered and will never rust or need to be replaced . Tires are brand new Michelin Symetry radial tires (like orig type 1/2 white line tires). Koni race shocks in rear (from the cars race days)....Vintage mint! The car was freshened up with original Brands hatch green paint and freshened up green interior. Options included: T.I. ,A.I.R smog, 4spd, am/fm,411 posi.HD suspension, rear luggage rack, clock (quartz)SS brakes (including a new master cylinder ) replaced less than a year ago along with vette brakes silicon brake fluid added to system for instant brakeage. This car was purchased from Bresee Chevrolet in Syracuse ,NY in February of 1971. Documented and tank sheet is still on the tank. This is an original LT-1 car..
