Vehicle Detail

I know, I know, another "barn find" almost "original" condition car. Seems like every other car now a days is supposed to be a original condition barn find that is one of a kind. Well, I won't make any claims that my cars can't back up. This one is not showroom ready, or completely original, but it is very, very close. And yes, believe it or not, my 125 pound wife helped push it out of a barn about 2 months ago. It is a two owner local car that was purchased new here in Huntsville Alabama at Jones-Hill Cadillac 44 years ago. The second owner purchased the car about a dozen years back and due to health issues it has not been driven in 7 years. Last tagged in 2006, this super straight Cadillac was stored in his barn until a couple of months back. The previous owners family says the mileage is accurate. He once appeared in a local television commercial in it and took great care of the car. It was serviced routinely and the only alterations to its originality is the addition of a really nice and well tailored two tone leather interior. The car was not running when I purchased it. I added a new battery, cleaned the gas tank and fuel line, had a great mechanic rebuild the original carburetor, and it fired right up. We had the brakes replaced and did a great job of detailing this big beauty back to life and now we have a car that is really special. It is powered by the original, numbers matching 472 cubic inch engine that powers this giant cruiser effortlessly. I have never driven a car this big that has the capacity to smoke the tires from a stand still and still rides and drives this nice. The engine compartment and underneath the car are as new and fresh as when it rolled off the line. It shifts out so smooth you can hardly feel it. It still retained correct fluid levels of everything when I found it, you would think seepage would occur from seals after so long but that was not the case here. The body appears to still have the original paint job that looks great with the exception of a small dead spot on the hood and a few small chips noted in the demo video. All the panels, and they are long ones, line up as they should. The doors, hood, and trunk all shut as they should and the gaps are consistent with a car that hasn't been in an accident. It has a great look to it and needs no body work. The interior, as mentioned above was replaced with a nice two tone leather that was put in by a craftsman. It is very nice with the exception of a small rust stain in the back seat witch is noted in the interior video. It could stand to have a new steering wheel to pretty it up a little. It is missing two small pieces of interior trim that I point out in the video but other than that, the dash door panels, carpet and seats are in incredible shape and sit and ride like a living room couch going down the road. All power windows, windshield wipers, radio, and power top work as they should. only the cruise control is not functioning. The heat and vent works well, the a/c compressor engages and turns but is not cold, it should be addressed. All lights, high beams, blinkers, back ups work like they are supposed too. The top fits perfectly and the hardware for it is in as good of condition as I have seen for a car of this age. However as I point out in the video the glass is detached from the canvas in a small area in the lower drivers side corner, im not sure if it can be glued and pressed back correctly. The tires are in great shape. I would rather you buy something else than misrepresent the car but it is truly in wonderful condition and will make you smile every time you turn the key. In Alabama titles are not issued for older cars like this so it will be sold with a bill of sale and tag receipt per state law. All cars are as-is and I strongly encourage everyone to have any vehicle that's purchased sight unseen inspected. I will be glad to accommodate any independent inspectors or take it to any local shops. If any rust or mechanical issues, or major flaws not noted in this description or videos posted here are found I will reimburse you the cost of the inspection. This is an incredible example of drop top Cadillac that will make everyone stare and have you feeling like a rock star. It has the original jack and spare tire along with the parade boot that's like new. I will post several video links below, have fun checking this great piece of art out with me. Feel free to text or call Robert (256)508-4722 if you have any questions. Thanks for looking.
