Vehicle Detail
You're bidding on a custom chopper motorcycle powered by a Hinckley Triumph engine taken from a 2008 model year Scrambler. Said donor bike had 2,000 miles on the odometer when the bike was stripped for its engine three years ago; I've since logged approx. 1,000 miles according to the GPS unit attached to the handlebars (see photo of handlebars from rider's perspective.) My starting bid is fair for a custom motorcycle of this caliber and pedigree, and this auction is NO RESERVE, so a savvy shopper is likely to get a super-good deal on this handcrafted machine. Here are the finished machine's particulars: October 2011: purchased finished dry (unpainted) build from Wayne Ahlquist at Acme Choppers in Meredith, NH. January–May 2012: Changed wheels to 2009 Dyna mags shown in photos. Swap included fresh tires (110/90-19 Kenda front, 140/70-17 Pirelli Scorpion rear); 2004 Harley-Davidson fork sliders and front brake caliper; PM rear 4-pot rear brake caliper; Biltwell Chumps handlebars, stainless-steel Simline risers, throttle and grips June 2012–May 2013: Shook down the finished bike at local chopper rides and campouts. Approximate total miles during this time < 500 June–July 2013: Completely stripped the bike down to bare frame for final customizing and painting. This refurb included a custom-crafted mini king-and-queen seat pan with hand-tooled British flag leather by Duane Ballard Custom Leather in Elsinore, CA; British Racing Green and cream paint job on the gas tank, underseat electrical box and rear fender by Josh Scott at Old School Helmets; new wiring, brake lines; powdercoated the frame and foot control brackets; installed new Speed Merchant brand US-made electrical and countershaft sprocket covers; new Biltwell investment-cast stainless steel Sanderson foot pegs; modified the Harley-Davidson brake pedal; new custom-fabbed stainless steel sissy bar/fender strut assembly with brushed nickel finish; brush nickel finished the Acme Choppers US-made steel fork triple trees; polished and modified the stainless steel aftermarket Scrambler exhaust system July–August 2013: < 500 miles on local campouts, bike nights and other fun summer rides. It's a California motorcycle, so it never sees rain. September 2013: Tony Dunn at Classic Cycles in Orange, CA, troubleshot a charging issue. The culprit was a frayed wire in the new electrical box beneath the seat. As of auction date this bike is a reliable screamer, with fewer than 3,000 miles on the according to original odometer on the donor bike and the GPS on its handlebars. All papers and title are current, all fluids (brake, oil) are fresh, and tires have less than 500 miles I'm opening this auction to bidders everywhere, but winning buyer MUST ASSUME 100% RESPONSIBILITY for arranging transportation. I will meet the trucking company that winning bidder hires for transporting his prize, but I will not palletize the bike, nor will I provide straps or packaging for same. Furthermore I will not avail myself for any transportation procedures until AFTER the bike is paid for in full. PayPal funds only. If the bike sells locally I will cancel this auction and notify the high bidder through PayPal. This bike has been featured on ChopCult (dot) com, and was photographed for a magazine feature that may or may not be published—there's no guarantee with that sort of thing. My reason for selling this bike is spelled out in the ChopCult feature, which you can find by Googling "Halwade's Acme Chopper." There's also a build thread on ChopCult that described everything that went into building the bike you see here. If you have questions, please contact me through eBay. I hate Harley-Davidson people who put Bobber keywords into their CB750 Chopper eBay ads so they show up in Pre-Unit searches. It really makes my Kawasaki Honda Yamaha Ducati Moto-Guzzi Softail FXR Dyna blood boil.
