Vehicle Detail

Seller NotesAwesome builder car for a mechanic or someone who wants to learn to work on cars. Needs motor swap or rebuild, as the crankshaft is lightly scored. This is visible from simply removing the oil pan, which we did. We are leaving it off so you can come by and inspect it yourself if you desire. With the oil pan on there, it should drive, although its technically not legal until you go to DMV and request a moving permit. Bought the vehicle at auction for $1250. Drove it to my warehouse. Minor rod knock indicating a scored crank shaft, shifted well indicating a functional tranny. There are a couple of dents, one on the hood, one on the rear. Not bad. Went to pick and pull and dropped $80 on a replacement hood without dents. Its included. Would need to be painted silver to match the car upon install. Internal components all seem in order. Needs a stereo Deck. I have a sony deck I would toss into the deal for $100 extra. Has a built in subwoofer box and wiring for 2k amps." I bought this car at an auction. Upon basic inspection no other flaws were found. This car probably has a lot more options then I have mentioned, I simply have not been there to look deeply into it. For $100 extra you can rent the shop space where the car is located for a month and fix it where it is at. Its at the foundry in Berkeley. The car is not currently registered. I have a lien sale packet, the packet used in lieu of a pink slip from the car auction. I will go to the DMV with you if you desire to ensure effortless title transfer. DMV will send you a new pink slip upon title transfer. UPDATE: The back fees have been paid, so just $150 should get you registered for the year! On Aug-19-13 at 14:03:13 PDT, seller added the following information: Please ask questions and ill respond here! Q/A Q: I may be missing something, you drove it home from the auction with on problems but it needs as new motor???A: Yes. I drove it from the auction and there was a minor rod knock, which usually indicates a crankshaft needing repair. I opened it up and changed the bearings, (save for the mains, which looked fine), and closed it up again and the rod knock was down to 10% but still there. I opened it up and looked at the Crankshaft, it needs to be polished or machined. Often, folks prefer to put v8 LT1 engines in these cars so instead of fixing the motor I am selling it as is, in hopes that someone that wants to put an LT1 in it or that doesnt mind fixing or swapping the engine will purchase it. Q: Does the car run?A: At present, the oil pan is off. If you put it back on the car should run. I am willing to do this. Thus, you could conceivable drive it to your shop from here. At the same time, there are no plates on it, so towing it would be the only legal route at present to moving it.. unless you get a temp moving permit from DMV.
