Up for sale is a VERY rare unique 1983 XL250R Paris Dakar Edition! Own a rare piece of Honda history! The Good... This is a current running and registered California motorcycle! It's so rare and Unique most Honda dealerships have NEVER seen one. I believe there are VERY few of these in the United States (it possible there not none to just a handful but I have nothing to back that claim up). There is not much I can find on the internet about these. All I heard is there were not many made (don't know exactly how many) and they were just sold in Europe. The Bad... The bike could use a good restore. Odometer (since its a European bike it's in Killometers) show 44,000 Killo's. It could use a Top End rebuild. I can the timing chain rattling a bit and there is a small oil leak near the valve cover. Bottom end of the motor is great! As you can see in the pics the gas tank shows some dents and should be repainted to show off this classic rare dual sport. I couple of the turn signals need fixed (I think the turn signal relay me be broken) and the needle inside tackometer broke off. I don't know exactly what the value of this bike is here in the U.S since I can't find any record of one ever being sold here (matter of fact I've found very little info about sales of this bike anywhere). If anyone reading this listing can share information about this rare model with me I would appreciate it. Reserve will be set at 1000.00 but I'm guessing it will fetch much more than that.
