Vehicle Detail

This 1967 Buick Gran Sport was restored to my specifications by Paintworks Unlimited in Dover, New Hampshire. Paintworks Unlimited performs top notch classic car restorations of all makes and models but specializes in 1965-1972 Buicks. They are active Buick owners, enthusiasts, club members and have restored dozens of award winning classic Buicks from this era. I have a full appraisal of this car from Paintworks available upon request as well as 150+ pictures chronicling the detailed restoration process. I am happy to put you in touch with the owner of Paintworks Unlimited to discuss this car and I encourage you to research the companies’ reputation and work. With the modified 455 motor, ratchet shifter and oversize wheels/tires, and aluminum radiator currently in the car, this is a very fast, highly street-able, ’67 Buick Gran Sport that I would classify as a mild ‘resto-mod’. This auction also includes the original drive train as well as all original equipment that was removed and stored during the restoration. Drivetrain:This auction includes two complete drive trains-the original numbers matching, 400 motor (with original Rochester carburetor) and TH-400 transmission as well as the modified 455 and TH-400 which are currently currently in the car. The motor in the car now a modified 1971 GS TR code 455 in it with aluminum intake and Stage 2 aluminum heads from TA Performance. This motor was tanked and rebuilt/freshened: Stock bore and pistons, honed and new rings. Standard crank with new bearings. T/A C110-455 Cam - .470”-218/.480”-110LS New T/A Stage 2 heads. (block was not drilled for extra mounting studs because of low 8.5:1 compression) ARP head studs. New Hi pres/vol. oil pump. Timing chain, etc. Aluminum radiator and high volume flex fan installed. Original GS fan shroud also installed. Brand new custom bent exhaust installed with TA headers and Flowmaster 40 series mufflers Carburetor is a period correct, rebuilt Quadrajet Shifter moved from column to center console-B&M Quicksilver ratchet shifter installed. Richmond 3.55 gears with limited slip installed into original 10 bolt housingThe transmission is a TH400 that has had a shift kit installed. B&M ratchet shifter installed on center hump. Console was added, this car was originally a column shift and I have all the parts. Interior: Mostly original. Headliner and carpet were replaced during the restoration. Dash was re-painted, dash pad was restored. Seat upholstery was in excellent shape and was not replaced. Armrest on passenger side has a small rip and plastic skirting shows some wear. Chrome shows some pitting. Correct Buick center console installed with ratchet shifter. Exterior: Originally had a vinyl top which I removed and chose not to replace during the restoration. The car was repainted the original gold. The paint is excellent with only a few small problem areas which I have detailed under ‘known defects’ and in the pictures. Bumpers were re-chromed during the restoration and are excellent. Wheels & Tires: 15X7 Buick Rallye wheels with original center caps. Tires are BF Goodrich radial TA’s size: P245/60R15Original Parts: Also pictured and included in this auction are the original steering wheel, column shifter parts, radiator, carburetor, differential and gears. Documentation: In addition to all the photos, I have the original Buick protecto-plate and manual as well as a clear title for the car. Known Defects:I’ve done my best to accurately picture and describe any know defects so you can feel confident that you have an accurate picture of this cars true condition. Power brake booster needs to be replaced Original Buick tachometer is not currently working. There is no radio in the car and at some point, someone enlarged the original holes for the radio. Small chip above driver’s side headlight Passenger side door latch occasionally sticksPlease don’t hesitate to reach out with questions or if you would like a copy of the appraisal. I’m happy to answer any questions or to give a Skype or Facetime tour of the car or arrange a time to view it in person.
