Vehicle Detail

This is a 1986 BMW r-80rt Mono Shock I have owned he bike for about 3 years. When I purchased it the bike was all stock. The bike had been taken pretty good care of but was sun faded and just needed a little bit of TLC. I took the bike down to the frame and motor only. I had the tank and fairings custom painted Scion XB special edition gold with extra pearl. The paint turned out beautiful and really gives it a classic look. I then degreased the motor and frame. I sanded the frame down and painted it with a high temp Dupont gloss black. I prepped and painted the engine with engine high temp silver and high temp gloss black. Next I took all the bolts that I removed during disassembly, Cleaned and polished them with a high speed buffer as well as the tops of the carbs. I replaced the handlebars with drag bars for a more aggressive look and utilizeed bar end mirriors to accomplish the look I was going for, I replaced the tires and valve stems so they are almost new. I removed the stock airbox and replaced te filter with K&N cone filters. I used a custom airbox delete tray to clean up the area where the airbox went. The wire harness was gone through and any wires that looked damged were taken out and replaced. I purchased an Acewell Digital Speedometer/tachometer and the necessary hardware to hook it up. It is installed and works well. I just have not set the time on it. Next I replaced the exhaust with a full MAC single exhaust (sounds geat). The exhaust has a removable silencer although I have never taken it out cause it sounds perfect with it in I believe. The bike went back together and started immediatly. There are other small details I am sure I missed but all in all this is a pretty sweet bike. There are a few small issues with the bike that you may want to address, Nothing major... First, I replaced the original headlight switch with a european switch that allows the headlight to be turned off while riding. After this was installed the headlight only works on bright or off. Second, I replaced the turn signals. The fronts are standard bulbs and the rear are LED. When I unstalled the LED signals the turn signals stopped flashing. I believe it is just a power issue with the LED lights and regular bulbs should fix the issue.Third, I did not paint the valve covers because I planned on replacing them with new ones, but never got around to it. Fourth, The ignition switch was messed up when I bought the bike so I used the stock harness and plug and basically turned that into the key. It was a cheap easy fix so there is not key currently for the ignition. If you want a real ignition switch then it just needs one bought and mounted where ever you want. Final, After the intake and exhaust was replaced with upgraded parts it was not rejetted. I believe it needs to be rejetted for the best performance, however the bike does run and ride great as is. Included with the auction is a few extra parts I have and manuals for the bike. I purchased stock BMW tank pads but I never got around to putting them on the bike. I think they would look awesome but I just had other things to do so they never were instaled. There is a newset of valve cover gaskets as well as a new oil filter. (I would suggest the winning bidder change the oil cuse it has not been changed for this riding season yet.) There is a set os aftermarket mirrors, stock luggage racks, and an additional harness I bought and planned to use but I ended up just using the original harness. So, all in all this is an awesoeme bike that needs very little work to make it perfect. it is unique and everyone askes me about it when I am out and about on it. The Single sided swing arm really stands out with the exhaust and just looks freaking cool! I love the bike and would rather not part with it but I am running out of room in the garage and really want another project to build. If you have any questions please feel free to message me through Ebay and I will respond as soon as I can. Thank you
