Vehicle Detail
I have a meticulously maintained, 2002 R1150GSA (with ABS, not Adventure). This is the more sought after model as compared to the late 2002 pre-electrically servo assisted combined braking system with dual spark plugs model. Some subject matter experts say that this is the best year of all 1150s. I have in my possession the clear title to this motorcycle. This bike was cleaned after each and every ride. Never ridden in the rain hence it's near new condition. This blue and white, or zebra colored, bike has been meticulously maintained and never taken off-road. This means no hidden mechanical or aesthetic issues whatsoever. The previous owner was a BMW mechanic and he too maintained it and never rode it like it was intended. He had it checked out for the final drive, transmission, and front hydraulic brake line recalls that were evident on this model if manufactured September 2002 and October 2002. This bike was manufactured in April 2002 (see picture of this bike's VIN check) so no recalls! It had a complete service at 23,000 miles, all fluids changed, ABS brake system flush, and valves adjusted. I have only used BMW approved Synthetic Oil in this bike. This R1150 GS, with 26K miles, comes with a list of additional parts required for a comfortable and safe dual sport experience. First off, it has a Kisan Headlight Modulator that flashes its aftermarket more powerful 55W HID high beam warning other drivers of your presence. This helps make your presence known when approaching vehicles. The modulator has a built in light sensor that doesn't allow it to come on during night time hours or when you go in to a tunnel or long overpass. When you step on the brakes, both rear turn signals, that have aftermarket led lights installed in them, light up and are coupled with the aftermarket led light brake system. This helps make your presence know to all behind you that you are stopping which is very important, especially in high traffic situations. And lastly, there are two PIAA driving lights mounted up front to help alert other drivers of your presence and give you further illumination of the road you when you are driving at night. For protection from minor spills and that annoying parking lot tip-over, it has a wrap around engine guard. I've added a beak which acts as a holder for the HID light system's ballast and also keeps water spray off the driver. There is a carbon fiber rear hugger to make sure that water spray from the rear tire stays off of the driver and passenger. There is a tall Aero-flow aftermarket windshield that all but eliminates wind buffeting at highway speeds. I'm 5'11" and I don't even flip my visor down when I ride this bike. The bike is also equipped with Fastway foot pegs so that your feet have a much larger surface to place your riding boots. And if those riding boots are off-road or motocross boots, then you will find it more difficult to use the bike's original shifter. So I added a Touratech adjustable toe shifter so that you can adjust it to any riding boot style that you own or will own. K&N Air Filter is also included. It also comes with a Leo Vince exhaust muffler which helps increase the bikes horsepower and reduce its weight. There is a battery tender pre-wired into the bike's one-year old Odyssey battery so you will never have to worry if your GPS or heated accessories are going to overload the bike's electrical system. This setup will assure you of a fresh, fully charged battery each morning. Bar risers have also been added giving a 1 1/2 " rear adjustment and a 2" vertical adjustment from factory settings. These can be easily removed to accommodate a different riding style. I ride with a buddy who is 6'4" and he has these same risers and adjustable Touratech shifter and says that with an aftermarket "tall" seat, he has no issues of feeling cramped riding his bike, on or off the road. This bike has the normal seat height. I am only saying this so that you can use this as a gauge if you are wondering if you can fit on a R1150GS. It has almost new Shinko front and rear dual sport tires (70% on road / 30% off road). I would estimate that these tires have a life of 4,000 miles and that they currently have 1,000 miles on them. It comes with the original, in near new condition, Service & Technical Manual, and Rider's Manual as well as all of its original tools located in the tool box. The BIN price of $7,200 DOES NOT INCLUDE the pictured 35L BMW Top Case (holds one full size helmet) with Corbin backrest and its mounting hardware nor does it include the optional BMW Side Cases and its mounting hardware (both in almost new condition) that I have if you would like to fully outfit this ride. It also does not come with the Bill Mayer Seat but rather the OEM front and rear seat. Of note, the bike's auction configuration is with its OEM backrest and no side bag mounting hardware. If you would like both or either of this luggage and seat, then they are offered at an additional $300 (top case) and $400 (side bags) respectively and $250 for the BMS seat. Just let me know at the auction's end as to which of these accessories you would like and I will install them on the bike. Otherwise, I will auction them off separately in another auction. I've been on eBay since 1999 and I understand that it can be hard purchasing an item in this good of condition via the web, sight unseen. You do however, have my seller's history, my reputation, and the recent pictures to give you some peace of mind. I am not riding the bike so it will not be accumulating additional miles or road wear. Over the last 14 years I have bought and sold many motorcycles and automobiles on this website. Because I'd like to keep my reputation as high as possible, I try very hard to do my best to accurately describe my items that I sell and also to make every transaction as smooth as possible! This has been my personal ride so I'm extremely familiar with its over the top service history. I can recommend a shipping company but the buyer will be responsible for shipping this item. As a cost estimate, you should figure about $600 - $700 to ship it from San Diego to upstate New York. Or just fly in and drive it home as I'm only 5 miles from the airport.
