Vehicle Detail
Here's a chance to own Chrysler's very top-of-the-line 1965 model, the LeBaron...and with a movie credit. This car was featured in the last few frames of the film, "My Girl" (see photos). A Florida car, this Imperial was loved and cared for many years until its owner became disabled. The car then sat in a covered garage for several years until we rescued it earlier this year. Upon delivery we installed: A new coil, plug wires, spark plugs, water pump, coolant, and thoroughly cleaned the carburetor. This LeBaron, one of only 2,164 built, has a quality re-paint that has only minor issues which occurred from being exposed to the Florida climate. They all can be spot repaired and in general, the car is very rust free for its age. All of the chrome and stainless is in excellent condition (one front bumper guard should be replated), including all of the glass. The brakes are strong. The 413 V-8 and Torqueflyte transmission run extremely well. The radial tires are serviceable. The power windows and seat operate, as well as the after-market AM/FM/Cassette player. The trunk is clean and original. The interior is acceptable and the claro walnut inserts are in good condition and could be brought to mint upon some slight refinishing and re-staining. The car has the original felt headliner that was specific to the LeBaron only. A new carpet set is needed and would really bring the interior around. The car somes with all paperwork and the original OWNER'S MANUAL. In Georgia, no title is issued on a car this old and a bill of sale is the legal document issued for ownership. However, we have the original Florida title and that will be transferred to the lucky buyer. All exterior lights and signals operate. The car does need a new or rebuilt carburetor as it is still not running as smoothly as it should. We suggest trailering the car, or doing a carb swap here in Valdosta prior to driving it for any considerable distance. The air conditioning and heater system does not operate. If you are an Imperial collector, you are aware that the 64-66 Imperials were perhaps the finest post-war luxury cars Chrysler ever produced, with an outstanding build quality, fine materials, and an excellent and easily-serviced drive train. Plus, this car has a Hollywood connection as well and it is the low-production LeBaron which features many distinctive refinements over the lower-priced Crown series. Please note our 100% feedback rating. We encourage your questions and will be happy to show you the car in person.
