1976 HONDA CB400F Super Sport If you are looking at this auction, you already know what a HONDA CB400F Super Sport is. I recently picked up this CB400F because it was yellow, and the yellow bikes are harder to find. However, I have 1/2 a dozen of these CB400Fs already, so decided to let this one go. This bike was last licensed in the mid-eighties. When I got this bike, it had no key. I had a key made and stuck in a battery just to check the status of the bike. To my amazement, All of the lights worked! All of them; headlight (high and low), tail and brake light, all the turn signals, all the instrument lights, and even the background lights in the gauge faces! The electric starter button needs replaced, but I jumped the wire, at the handlebar switch, and turned over the starter and motor. The tank is clean inside. However, the petcock appears to have leaked so I did not put any gas into the tank. I sprayed some starter fluid into the airbox, jumped the starter button, and it fired right up. The motor ran smoothly, but I expect the carbs would need cleaned. I have never ridden this bike. This bike has been sitting for a long time, and has some rust. The tank has some dents on the right side, and some sticker residue on the top right. The seat has a replacement cover on it, but it is over the original cover, and just held on with a "drawstring". The front brake line is from higher bars, and is longer than original. Both right and left side covers are new, with new mounting rubbers installed. Again, this bike has been sitting a long time, and needs a total restoration. It is a project bike. However, it is mostly complete, and basically original; a great platform to start with.
