Our stunning 2005 example has only 12,900 miles and its immaculate condition is the result of two fastidious Florida owners. Sold new in July 2006 with an MSRP of more than $24,000, the original owner drove the car only 7,000 miles in over 6 years! We purchased in October 2012 and have it enjoyed it immensely...so much so we've bought a new '13 Convertible, hence our reason for selling. The car has NEVER been smoked in, no accidents, no paintwork and is in excellent running condition. Well equipped with cold Air Conditioning, Power Windows, Power Door Locks, Keyless Remote, Security System, Stereo/CD/MP3 cable, Glass Roof w/Sunshade, New Smart Carpeted Mats & More! Includes ALL owner's manuals, pamphlets & an assortment of spare maintenance items. These are thoughtfully engineered little cars with a true Mercedes-Benz 3 Cylinder Gasoline Turbo Charged engine that is built to last - it's not uncommon to see other well-used examples with more than 100,000 miles still going strong...all the while getting up to 43 MPG! Our car is one of the rarer 'First Generation' Smart ForTwo's (body code W450) that were imported, DOT/EPA converted, and marketed by G & K Automotive in Santa Ana, California - because of that, this car is lighter, more fuel efficient & closer to the original concept of what a Smart was supposed to be - a durable and efficient city car! Lustrous two-tone mineral grey with silver Smart Tridiron complimented by OEM factory alloy rims riding on Continental tires in superb condition (detail pics below) PHOTO 2: Rear 3/4 driver view showing the car's stable, wide-track stance to the rear. The raised air-intake behind the driver's door is actually functional and feeds cool air to the Mercedes-Benz engineered 3 cylinder Turbocharged engine! PHOTO 3: Yes, the mileage IS that low and every aspect of the car shows it! If divided by it's age, the mileage has accrued at less than 2,000 miles per year! We like to refer to the little dots on the gas guage as 'jellybeans' and they disappear VERY slowly :) PHOTO 4: Rear view showing the BIG doors that allow for easy access as does the rear-glass hatch for storage behind the seats. Speaking of seats, notice the strong, rigid, steel shells that form the seatbacks - yet another forward thinking approach to enhance safety. PHOTO 5: Could it be ANY cleaner? Lovely grey cloth interior with fun lighter grey stripes to the seats and door upholstery. Upper dash is covered in an immaculate cloth of complimenting pattern and colors. Note the A/C pods on each end of the dash as well as in the center stack. This car also has the optional pods above the central area featuring an analog clock and tachometer. PHOTO 7: Seats look new! No wrinkles, stains, tears or odors. We often say that a car's seats tell the story of its use and these certainly measure up. PHOTO 15: Transmission shifter! Car can be driven in 2 modes: Full 'automatic' or with 'clutchless' manual. Either way, the car has 6 forward gears + Reverse allowing for a memorable experience. NOTE: The only known 'problem' with the car is IF one completely fills the tank to 7.5 gallons, there will be a subtle odor of gasoline in the cab UNTIL the fuel level drops to about 6 gallons. This is a COMMON occurrence in the G & K cars and it can be corrected via reference materials online from Smart Clubs etc. We simply avoid the problem but NOT filling the tank ABOVE 6 gallons.
