1962 VW Double Cab Custom NO Reserve! I have had a lot of email on this bus, So now its listed with No Reserve, Someone is going to win this!!! could be you! This bus has had so much work done to it and a lot of great parts put into it. So good luck!!!!!! The story behind this bus. I built this bus 10 years ago. I grafted the ragtop and the corner windows. I used it in its unfinished state and drove it as daily driver for 6 years. I took it to shows and drove it occasionally,but mostly it stayed in my garage. I sold this truck to a friend in 2011, but because I built the truck and know what's in it, I am helping him sell it here on Ebay. Its has a clear Az title. The hard part is done, engine, trans, brakes, lowering is all done, ready for you!!! Finished you would have a very unique Doublecab. Please feel free to ask questions. Body Pretty solid, has some spots to that need to be repaired Front wheel wells are modified Body is primed, some body work has been done Front wheel wells raised for clearance All doors swing freely All doors are pretty much rust free, back door does have little rust issue at the bottom Body work needs finishing block sanding filler, Side gates I bought from a guy in texas, some rust issues but all are there and workable Back gate I bought from a guy in Nevada, back gate same way some rust issue at the bottom, top welds are not pretty on all. Grafting of corner windows and top done Rag top kit installed , still needs TLC in fitting the slide, and handle to lock closed Rag top in good shape has headliner Corner glass installed Rear window opening there is no glass or rubber as it was ready to be fitted Safari windows, Wolfsburg west (apex 5 years ago ) one window has corner crack (pass side) Dash of bus radio was filled in with air louvers, and small detail 3 louvers on either side Near door,I did this as a small detail. 2 side gates extended to fit the curve for the corner windows, gates were cut 2”” shorter height wise to make a nice fit to the corner windows, have those cut offs (needs work) Rear gate ( needs work) have latches but not installed Have all latches and hinges, have extras as well The front turn signals have been switched to bullet style Rear lights have been filled and switched to 57 style round tail lights have housing and lenses, blue center lens There is no bed steel its open which made it easy to install a later style gas tank (larger) Rear deck door is there and needs sanding Real apron has been modified and comes with a spare Have front and back seats need to be modified for wheelwells heights that were raised 　 Engine Duel muffler glass packs, pipes on either side tips just in front of rear wheels one on each side. Run from both sides of engine, exhaust manifolds flipped to run towards the front, pipes run off that with bolt together attachments One pipe is bent Engine is a type 4 1.7 Porsche pancake style, runs strong!!!! I went through it 4 years ago. Single progressive Weber carb .009 dizzy EngineTins were painted color of bus to be Flywheel set up from bus and push bearing, new clutch and pressure plate 4 years ago Trans Trans is type 3 freeway flyer, matched to engine, ( Az trans Bill built it) swing axel no reduction gears very easy shifting Cut swing plates Suspension Front beam CB adjustable, and 3” narrowed beam , narrowed tie rods, drop spinals 2” 914 disk brakes ( Nat did the spindle work wagons west) Back brakes, disk CB kit 2 reservoir brake master cyl with bushing New brake lines 4 years ago The electrical need to really be gone through, but lights work, front and back, charging systems works great, Engine electrical works No gas gauge or turn signals, rear lights need to be hooked up Gas tank and lines need to be cleaned out as truck was stored for 4 years Porsche rims with 135 tires in front, Porsche rims with tires in back 195 55 r 15 Electrical fuel pump New headlight buckets and lenses ( the good lenses) 4 or so years ago Ronnie at bus station in lake havasu, clocked me going 90 MPH !!! just crusing with that Porsche engine. plenty of power!!!!
