Vehicle Detail
Im relisting for the 3rd and last time this season. Folks you will NOT get a Honda Valkyrie for under $5 grand here on Ebay. I have no need for this bike. Your not going to find a better value then my asking price for this Valkyrie regardless of year or condition folks. No one would be getting a pig in a poke here. Its a solid running low mileage machine. This bike needs nothing done to use it as is. The bike was originally bought 2 years ago as a project, and then to custom trike it. They(a previous owner) had an idea to make it a big sports bike painted it purple and had flames painted on it. It was painted a 1970s Plymouth Plum Crazy, as seen in 1 of the pictures. It is also desmogged, which is a good thing. Thats how I brought it home. I spent the next 7 months rehabilitating the bike. Buying new parts when available. Some used parts here on Ebay or from PinWall otherwise. Its been refreshed to 95% OEM stock. What Ive done to the bike since Ive had it. I got a very clean used tank and rear fender with good paint a light scratch or 2. A new take off set of OEM exhaust pipes, with cut off piggy's, new air filter, front brakes, handle bars, levers, control boxes, mirrors, rebuilt the calipers, redid all the hydraulics and petcock with new selector control. New risers, and had the OEM top triple tree polished. I bought a used OEM speedometer that shows 1200+ miles with orange background lighting, tack has etched glass with green backgound lighting . All new cables less the clutch cable which is a stainless cable. Added chrome fork deflectors. All the fluids were changed. Pumpkin rebuilt, new fluid and freshly packed. The wheels are still the original purple, front fender and side covers were just rattle canned black. The headlight is also painted black. Added a single OEM seat. Some usable saddle bags and a super large wind screen with a scratch or 2 not noticable when riding. I mounted it using turnsignal clamps. The rear turn signals I converted to Turn/running lights. Easily reverted to stock. But no cop has cared about it here in 2+ years. As for the tires. It did need new tires. Im a Darksider. I use my bikes to commute to work daily. So the front is a new Kenda Challenger rear and the rear tire is a new Sunny Light truck tire in 195-65-16. Both with less then 500 miles on them. These tires have a much better ride and much longer tire wear then OEM bike tires do. Most importantly to me, outstanding braking in the rain which is 9 months out of the year here in my part of Florida. I am taking into account the fact some are scared here of CT on a bike and it is reflected it in my asking price. Same with the paint, if someone were to have it resprayed. The original double seat with padded sissy bar is also available. The only thing I didn't rebuild were the front forks. I just drained them and added new fluid. As I had planned to have this bike custom triked. I stopped working on it knowing what I didnt do was just cosmetics and would have been tossed in the conversion to a trike. I instead, bought a 2010 GoldWing with MotorTrike Adventuer kit. I also have a custom 2005 Yamaha Road Star, so Im selling the Valkyrie......... or not. This bike is an outstanding bargain for a 14 year old bike. Its worth every penny of my asking price. Mechanically this bike is in 101% perfect order. I have over $2500 invested in new parts alone here, my labor was my labor. Also included is the original owners manual a Clymers manual, a home made wood jack craddle to support the engine. A few more things. To who ever ends up with this bike, if anyone does. I have a set of Progressive 440 shocks with HD springs worth $300 used here on Ebay alone, Ill toss in.. Also the floor boards which I have since removed. OEM pegs are on it now. Dont ask for the 3 into 3 pipes, they are gone. Traded for the new OEM take off exhaust less piggy's thats on the bike now. The other extra parts I have if wanted. The original useable tank. I had it creamed but still had a touch of rust in it. The rear fiberglass custom fender ,also an extra black lower OEM rear fender. Plus a bunch of extra carbs and assorted electrical and lighting stuff. Over $1500 worth of parts if sold separately here on Ebay. I can email more pictures of anything you may want to see on the bike if asked. So here it is. A perfectly fine riding, mechanically sound bike. It may need a little more TLC to make perfect. More importantly a realistic asking price, Im not asking the moon guys. I just want it to go to someone who cares about a bikes soul. Not its cosmetics. You want looks?? That's going to cost you here on Ebay, current economy or not withstanding. Thanks Jay
