Vehicle Detail

Normal 0 false false false EN-US JA X-NONE NO RESERVE....THESE ARE GETTING HARD TO FIND IN THIS CONDITION- NO RUST- PLEASE READ ALL DETAILS BELOW BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS 1985 BMW 635CSI (BUILD DATE 10/84)5 SPEED WITH LSD (Big "S" on differential) HISTORY: I purchased the car about 7 months ago with the intention of making it my daily driver- It is a daily driver so the mileage will increase- but still needs some minor work- my plans have changed, but not before I put a lot of work/money and love into this classic. I am the 3rd owner, the previous owner lived in Florida and was transferred to Germany for about 10 years and had the car Exported there- so it was born there, imported to the US, went back home for a few years and then was sent back to Florida. When I purchased it, the car had been sitting for about 8- 10 years- several years in Florida and then moved with its owner to Illinois– he said he drove it a few times a year but mainly kept it inside or under a car port with a car cover on it, (the condition it was in when I took delivery was : under the car port, with car cover on and it had not been moved in a while- a few mice nests but if fired up and ran down the road) the paint has great shine but the hood was repaired and repainted at sometime it its life (some bubbling) and IMO needs to be replaced- it does not look like any other paint work has been done to the car- There are numerous spots on the paint from the car cover sticking to it over the years, they are noticeable up close and may buff out.The previous owner said that was actual mileage- and the Auto Check I did on the vehicle before purchase indicates (2) owners and no mileage descrepancy. The engine does not smoke or burn oil, idles well and seems to have plenty of power through all gears. The research I have done indicate the AFM (Air flow meter) has a lot to do with how these cars run and I think this one needs to be cleaned/rebuilt or replaced to make the car run as it should- either way it pulls though the gears and would give my other German toy a run for its money. The car came with a brand new dash when I purchased it (not installed) it has a plastic cap on it now that looks great to me. (The new dash sold on eBay a few months ago...sorry!) The car runs good, shifts good, looks good and is so much fun to drive- It is worth putting some money into and thats why I bought it. It has a power steering fluid leak. The AFM (Air flow meter) sticks from time to time on start up (tap it and it works great). The seats are electric/multifunction the passenger seat needs some work- it does move but not always- most functions on the driver seat work as they should. The driving lights and bright lights work as they should but the indicator light for the brights on the dash has a burned out bulb. The shifter has some play in it due to bad shifter bushings (It comes with 2 new ones)The horn does not work. I have put a several thousand miles on it, a few trips to KC and some great local road trips (100-150 miles) with no problems- it is great to drive and probably safe for a long trip. It has the BBS metric spare with original tire, jack, safety tri-angle and other trunk parts- it has several manuals that come with it also (some are in German?) The sunroof works as it should. I'm sure I have forgotten something- just want to represent it well, it is far from perfect but what a color! and these cars are just sweet to look at and fun to drive....lots of compliments. Please ask questions before bidding- PICK UP ONLY, I would be happy to help load it or work with a shipper, I would hop in it now and take off for a road trip, but I can not guarantee its good for cross country drives. Check out my Feedback- There is a $500 non-refundable deposit via paypal due 48 hours after the end of auction. It is on a small note at the bank so we will have to get paperwork done to get the title.Call with questions: 785-865-6604 New Parts: (with receipts for most) Water pump Thermostatwindow washer pump and 1 nozzle Thermostat housing Radiator hosesDist cap and rotorFuel filterPlugs and plug wires Belts Vacuum hosesInner shifter boot BatteryNew A/C switchCooling system flush/ and flush kit installedNew Hazard warning switchHeater bypass valve rebuild kitWindows professionally tinted- (35%) Temp sending unitFULDA tires Fuel sending unit White gauge kit New SI Board (Service interval) (No batteries needed) Stereo with USB Front seats reupholstered (Pearl-beige) New LED back light for OBC (not installed) Turn signal/dimmer switch All new front suspension- (Upper/Lower ball joints, control arms, tension bars, tie rods/ends, and everything else steering related) New power steering pump hoses (there are several- I replaced 2) New catalytic converter (not OEM) Exhaust manifold gasketSeveral new exhaust hangers (OEM) Exhaust manifold studs Exhaust manifold to exhaust gasket What it needs: (in my opinion- no special order) AlignmentAFM conversion to MAF- (or replace/rebuild) Rear seats recovered- split in driver side Front rotors turned/replaced (Brakes are good- has a shimmy when braking)Lifters adjusted- (Sounds like a BMW- but it is good preventative maintenance) CV Boots on rear axles (some shrinkage) Shifter bushing kit/or short shift kit A/C needs charged/converted?
