Note: The person that won this auction last had no intention of coming to pick the car up as I patiently waited a month for him to make the necessary arrangements. Never paid a deposit, either. If you intend on bidding on this car, please follow through with completing the sale. If you have any questions before the auction ends, feel free to email me anytime and I will gladly answer them. Hello, you are looking at a 2001 Volkswagen Passat GLS 4 Door auto for sale with about 70,000 miles on the replaced Audi A6 engine. PA state inspection as of last month. Emissions Workshop/Check Engine check light is on. When I drive the car to a certain speed, the Emissions Workshop warning comes on and then the Check Engine light right away after. Perhaps it has something to do with the new catalytic converters and the carbon buildup that has yet to completely dissipate. I will try and give the best description I possibly can. The cars transmission slips a bit and leaks fluid. However, as I've said, the car does shift through all the gears and into reverse, it just feels hesitant at times to get into certain gears. The steering also feels a bit tight going around sharp bends. Aside from the issues that I've stated above, the car runs decently now ever since I have put about $6000.00+ in repair work into this vehicle. Overall, the car is in drivable condition with your typical wear of a car of this age. A/C runs strong, the engine is strong. Tires are relatively new with about 90%+- tread remaining. CD disc changer in the trunk works nicely, Sunroof works perfectly, heated mirrors work, etc. The car has been garage kept for as long as I've owned the vehicle. Car comes with original floor mats by Text-Enhance">, but I would recommend replacing them since they are pretty beat up. I will list the repair work I have done to the vehicle and then list the things that I find that are wrong (I have all receipts): Engine replaced at about 129,000 miles with an Audi A6 engine a few months ago. (Shows just under 132,000 miles on the ODO now.) The engine, according to the mechanic, had about 70,000 miles on it when he put it in my Passat. Engine mounts replaced Power Steering Pump replaced 2 weeks ago. Both by Text-Enhance">Catalytic converters were replaced recently (Smell is almost gone. Run it another hundred miles or so and should be completely gone. Emissions workshop check light warning does come on.) Oil Pressure Sender/Switch 4 New Tires Exhaust clamps Front torque strut by Text-Enhance">Oxygen Sensor Left secondary oxygen sensor Rotors Brake Pads Some other various routine maintenance issues that were taken care of during the time I've owned the car. Total invested: Roughly $6000.00+ _____________________________________________ Superficial things that are wrong with the car: Small crack in the front bumper, small chip/rust spot on the front hood as photographed, various small scratches and dings from normal highway driving throughout the body paint. Several larger scratches as photographed and filmed, small dime and eraser sized dent in the top inside of the door frame (not the car frame), $10 fake wood trim on drivers inner door handle is broken, stereo speakers are not the best. Cars interior could use a decent cleaning and headlights could use a cleaning to be de-fogged. Outside of these minor issues, the car runs and with a little bit of work, would be completely reliable. The only reason I am selling it is because I purchased a newer vehicle and there is no reason for me to have 2 cars. Besides, I could use the funds from this to pay off my newer car. Here is the YouTube walkaround video I made of the Passat a couple days ago (At this time, the Emissions Workshop light/Check Engine light did not come on): http://youtu.be/Ls-i-7oPEqc More Photos: http://s178.photobucket.com/user/llamabearduck/library/Passat?sort=3&page=1 Thank you for taking the time to look, and if you have any further questions, feel free to ask anytime or if you would like to have a look at it in person. I am starting this auction off at $1800.00 since that is what it ended at the last time it sold. I will let you determine what this car is worth to you. With the items I've mentioned above remedied, this car would be worth a decent amount I'd imagine and quite reliable. Buyer responsible for all shipping, transfer fees, etc.
