Porsche 911 SC 1983 This is a Great Porsche to own. The 3.0 liter engine was a big improvement over the previous 2.7 liter engine when it comes to reliability. A lot of the literature refers to this engine as “bulletproof “ power plant that is packaged in a body that is an industry first in preventing rust. The body is fully galvanized. So you have a bigger more reliable engine along with a body that is fully galvanized to prevent rust. Now you have a car that can be driven and enjoyed for years to come. This example has had the same owner since it was 6 months old. He has taken very good care of this car with “old school” maintenance and synthetic oil since it became widely available. The owner has upgraded the chain tensioners to a pressure-fed Carrera design. Other upgrades include a Blaupunkt radio with CD capability a Momo racing style steering wheel and a stainless steel, tuned performance exhaust. The car has had additional soundproofing and the interior original and beautifully maintained. The leather is well maintained with no rips or cracks and the carpeted mats are new. The Fuchs wheels look rash free and the Pirelli tires are fresh. Issues are few but typical for Porsche’s of this vintage. That includes AC needing freon seasonally, rear hatch strut has lost pressure and the fresh air fan is not blowing now. Stories…not many but car was completely repainted in original color 15 years ago after a grocery store parking lot bump. The only other story is a small scratch on the drivers side “C” pillar and a small flattening of the rocker panel leading to the left rear wheel well and a chip on the wheel arch. The overall appearance and condition of this car is outstanding for a car that has actually been driven and enjoyed.
