Vehicle Detail

This car was sold to a guy in CT last week, he loved the car, you can even talk to him about it - he felt bad asking me to take it back. His wife didn't like how "racey" the car was (mine doesn't eaither, LOL).I can understand that - so I took it back. I am now going to include the American Racing Torq Thrust II's in the deal. 1985 Monte Carlo SS T-top Coupe With only 20,490 original miles! I recently purchased this car from the original owner in PA, it was never used as a daily driver and you’ll know why in a minute. Every piece of paperwork given to you as the purchaser of a new car is included with this car, original window sticker, dealership order form (typed with a typewriter – remember those?), all manuals, original dealer key fob, etc. the paperwork is incredible. I also have the owner’s notebook which contains all the original PA state inspection stickers with mileage recorded to verify it’s legit. This car has only been driven 1,500 miles over the last 20 years! 95% original paint, all the original “rock guard” paint on the lower portion of the body is in perfect shape. Door jams, trunk jams, under the t-tops – all absolutely perfect and has never been retouched. The weather-stripping under the t-tops is as new and you G-body guys know how hard it is to find a car that “fresh.” The car has never spent a single night outside and it’s covered when not in use. It still has its beautiful Burgundy cloth interior – complete with original dash, door panels, seats, carpets and GM floor mats all in perfect original condition. The tach in the cluster is not working due to the SUN tach superseding it (which is mounted with holes hidden UNDER the cluster should you ever want to remove it). The hood has been altered for fresh air and heat dissipation – there is an OEM Choo Choo Customs El Camino hood scoop mounted as if it were a factory option. The hood insulation looks like a factory install – but it was recently added by me. Options include Power Windows, Power Locks, Power Trunk, T-tops, A/C, Tilt wheel, AM-FM Cassette, Cruise Control, Power steering and Power Disc brakes. This Monte is a loaded car and it’s extremely obvious that it has been pampered its entire life; it shows great and is in excellent original condition. Now this is why I HAD TO BUY THIS CAR!!! Besides being one of the lowest mile, tightest driving G-body cars I’ve ever been exposed to … At 3,500 miles the “asphalt ripping” 175hp 305HO, along with the 200R4 Trans and original 10-bolt rear (not G80) were removed from the car. In its place went a very stout, hand built 475hp 383 small block, complete with a solid Comp Cam, roller rockers, 10.5:1 Compression, ARP Rods, Windage tray, MSD ignition, Hooker ceramic coated headers, Edelbrock Victor Jr. Air Gap single plane intake, and it’s topped off with a Holley 800 CFM DP carb and K&N Air Cleaner. Behind the engine resides a very beefy 700R4 OD Trans and an indestructible FORD 9” rear with a street friendly set of 3:73’s (open). The entire drive train has less than 18,000 miles and the original 3,500 mile drive train was included with the car! At one point there was a Nitrous system in the car, one of those under-carb setups, there hasn’t been a NOS bottle in this car since 1990 or so. That little button mounted in the shifter is the actuator. My butt-dyno says this car will run 12’s all day long. I have had plenty of 440 Mopars from the 60’s and this car will crucify them. Can you imagine having a 20k mile ’85 Monte SS that rides and looks brand new that will absolutely devour most stock musclecars from the 60’s and 70’s! So if we net things out – you get… A very original, never rusted, never restored ‘85 Monte SS with only 20k on the clock. All the original dealer/owner paperwork you’d ever want for collectability / investment down the road (remember this car is already an antique being 28 years old – what?!?!). The 3,500 mile #’s matching drive train, which has been “on ice,” for someday if you ever want to go back to original – why? I don’t know… And 475 very streetable horsepower, albeit not very gas friendly, to have fun with, race with, cruise with, etc. Always garage kept, pampered and serviced, this car is always ready to drive or show. The car will also include the original Monte SS wheels and four new 235/60-15 BFG Radial T/A’s. SHOULD YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS, PLEASE CALL MEDave – (617)513-7407 Who is the guy behind “VintageCarsOnline?” I’m a 53 year old “car guy” that sells CAD/CAM software (yawn) by day and plays with cool cars in my spare time. I always have a couple cars in the garage. I try to buy only low mileage, well documented, original cars & trucks - from other car guys (and gals), that way you know what you are getting. I also help computer illiterate friends to sell their cars online. Inspections prior to auction end are never a problem and are always encouraged. Note - No warranty is expressed or implied – this is a 28 year old car and as such some things may need attention sooner or later – even perfectly restored cars need sorting out. I am representing it as accurately as I can based on my knowledge and have tried to give as much information as possible. The car is for sale locally and if sold, the auction will be canceled. A non-refundable $500 deposit via PayPal or a cashier’s check is required within 48 hours of auction end. Full payment is required within 7 days of auction end. If you need assistance in transporting the car, I can refer you to the company I have used many times... at your expense. Please, if you are not intending on paying, please do not bid. All bidders with less than 5 feedback's need to call me or their bid might be canceled. A lot of my cars sell before the auction ends – if you are REALLY interested please give me a call – Dave (617)513-7407 There are A LOT of pictures below... Be patient, it is worth the wait
